    Turkey in late 70's.

was asked the same question then when i got back home and was with friends. said the turks were a bunch of basterds and hated them all
only to discover there was a lad from turkey in the room
we are still friends today though.

some of the stuff i saw in thailand 25 yrs. later almost had me change my mind.

Worst? Gotta be England.....oversized and often smelly fucks everywhere you go (maybe on par with USA?) and nearly everything grossly expensive. Youngish people seem to look at you with murder in their eyes - like, 'Wot the fvck yous lookin' at, innit?!' Gangs of spotty kids/youths barging around the towns and annoying as many people as possible, while the cops mostly turn their heads the other way. Drunks pissing, puking, shouting and singing(?) everywhere in the weekends. Oh - and hardly any actual English people in some areas. That was 13 or 14 years ago - and I somehow doubt things are any better today. If I had the chance to visit the place again I'd avoid England like the plague and maybe try Wales.
I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

Thought you were a bit more savvy than that terry.

There are great, unique, interesting places in england. The post is no more "true" than those that have said US is shite, or australia is "bland".

I will bow to those who express experiences in PNG, angola, namibia and the like, but to write off countries as varied and interesting as uk, aus, us, france etc is just bollocks.

I have stood on the great wall, dived the barrier reef, seen stonehenge, visited monte san michele, seen everest from nepal, walked the grounds of angkor wat, and borobudur and strolled though the kasbah of marrakesh and you know what?

Is all been bloody good shit.

Exactly, I loved England; London is interesting, the country side and villages even more so.

but nearly every country has some aspect to it that is varied and interesting.

to be honest, I figured that pseudopolous was just trolling for a bite, which he got.

    Probably right.

For london, some smacking restraunts, the museums and gallaries alone are worth a visit. Country side pubs, great (and i mean great) food in some of them. the fells, cotwalds, lake district......nuff said.

I had a mate who went Tunisia, he spoke about locals perving over his bird, camels and about being confined to drinking in his resort. His girlfriend loved it though

I went out to speak to el jeffe and the guy was drunk and having sex with a prostitute on the floor of the hotel lobby beside the desk. He sprayed the room then I poured a track of bug powder round the edge of the mattress before stepping inside the rectangle to try and sleep.

I went for a beer next day and a guy at the bar was sitting playing with a pistol. Loading and unloading the chambers.
Sounds like a real "bed and breakfast" deal!

I wouldn't mind living in Switzerland if it was closer to the Equator and had more Asian women and had lower taxes.

I actually had Oz on my bucket list, but maybe I should rethink that. While not a fan of Saudi Arabia, it is nice to walk around Riyadh at night and not worry about getting mugged.

Also the prayer calls can be very melodic with a good caller. Certainly too much sand and not enough beach though.

Bahrain is a much more fun place if you have to be in the area.

I know what Psaudaloeusisososo means about Aus. It's all very nice and clean, but it is sterile. There's no 'depth' to the place. I do enjoy my visits there, if only to experience 'normal' roads, everyone speaking English and paying through the nose for everything.

It really is just like the UK, but with generally better weather, less traffic and practically zero culture.

Not sure there's anywhere I've hated...

I don't like China, but it's very interesting (dirty place with dirty people...).

    Dubai was very very underwhelming.

I might go to Saudi soon, as Davis suggested, that's likely to jump to the top of this list for me. I did find Finland (Helsinki) boring, so I went to Talin instead which was great back then.

If you think Saudi is going to jump to the top of the list why go there

Are you actively seeking the worst country?

I saw that, but at that hour the reason wasn't given. Not a good country for gays, lesbians and Blacks.

I was in Tijuana two days ago. All the bad press it gets ... just seemed like the regular ol' Tijuana we always loved and admired. Obviously I wasn't decapitated. Did arrive too early for the donkey show tho.
