Thread: What I Dislike About Thailand

As an able bodied person I can quite see how you have become to dislike Thailand when having any sort of disability. Despite the hype on T/V etc Thailand definitely is not set up to accommodate any type of disablement it can be difficult enough at times when one is able bodied.
However please try not to give up on Thailand there are some nice people around depending where you reside. Though you are definitely better off away from the big towns and tourist traps where people actually have time for one another.
Language difficulties aside if you make an effort to communicate with them (and I do not mean buy all the beers) even if you initially make a fool of yourself, (always laugh if you do) they eventually will try and communicate with you and welcome you into their local community.
Put yourself in their place in similar circumstances if they were in England or the US. I know for a fact that the initial reaction in the UK would be the same as here until the people got to know you.
So as you say you have burned your bridges do not give up try and make the best of it.
PS just reread your post - Don't think much of your expat community where you live if they cannot find the time to befriend you for what it is worth in my opinion you are better off without them!!
