Thread: Driving holiday from Bangkok

I'm looking at 2 options.

1. Bangkok-Phetchabun-Sukhothai-Lampang-Kampaeng Phet-Nakhon Sawan- BKK

2 BKK-Phetchabun-Loei-Chiang Khan-Nong Khai-Khon Kaen-Chaiyaphum-bkk

Which do you think is the better option?

Google maps tells me they are about the same distance, only 10km out.

Timeframe would be 7-9 nights. 2 nights some places some just pass thru.

Return trips are 1476km and 1466km.

Is it worth the effort or should we just pick somewhere closer to Bangers for a week getaway? (not doing pattaya/hh)

Option 2 is the better trip
Loei and Chiang Khan are nice

I should add I'm already doing a trip to prachuap. The northern run is a 2nd trip, might be trying to do too much but keen to seen as much as possible as this might be the last trip for a couple of years.

I kept meaning to go up North with the Missus, never did get around to it.

You could head up to Sanklebury on the Border just past kanchanaburi. Nice trip and scenery up that way.

Ive just done a 3k road trip from Chiangmai out along the lao border down to Koh chang and finished in Bangkok. Took us 2 weeks just cruising along through all the back roads.

Just keep driving mate, cant go wrong really.

GPS works wonders.
