Well it's not the first, and if its the second, it probably depends how good you are.

Poker can be a lot of fun with the right group. I remember the days of our games back home with the good old boys. We had a couple of pros show up at times, and they commented on how well our evenings went.

Well, it's all a matter of one's perspective.

I used to play around 10am in the UK online and try and catch a few drunken Yanks.

I gave up playing after winning £5000 one night. I'd started with 100, was going so well until I started drinking then lost with a pair of aces, I went on what is known as tilt, spunked the lot and felt sick for a good few days after

Poker is a game of cards amongst willing participants who understand there is a chance to win or lose. Whats immoral about that?

It's surprisingly difficult to maintain discipline.

I'm just bouncing around on the micro-tables, more or less breaking even. I'll slowly build a bankroll until one night I am in the wrong frame of mind and I'll end up blowing the lot with bad decisions.

It is a game of maths and probability but the psychological side should not be underestimated.

Very true that moonraker. Especially on the no limit tables. Always pays to pay attention to where you are sitting and how many will call you if you decide to go balls out on that pair of Jacks

Exactly right. If you are able to separate the two and only play the maths, you will hardly ever lose long term. As long as you are playing people with a lower understanding of the percentages than you that is, which will be about 99% of all the people that play poker these days.

Poker isn't a vice if you are in control of what you are doing. The second you are losing money you can't afford to lose, and that then affects other people such as your family, you are a twat with no self control and it has become a vice.

Poker is a wonderful game of life. It's given my great pleasure over the years and an average of $20,000 a year over the last 6 years - half of that is rakeback. It's all about patience and discipline. There is some easy maths involved - I studied maths at uni so helps me a lot.

I think too many people on here grew up in the west, where whoring is considered a vice, if a woman wants to rent me her ass, mouth or pussy, why is it anyones business except ours?

Now I am sure we could go into forced prostitution etc, but I honestly believe the numbers for that are very low, and blown out of proportion by feminists and NGO's.
