    Grounded

Met a guy that's been here in Thailand for 18 years and I asked him why he seemed so content. He said that the west was too plain, too many rules, and too boring. Went on to say that in Thailand you can still find a lot of magic, there is a lot of shit, but a whole lot less average and he liked that. Thought that was pretty good.

When he runs short of cash like I did, he'll know what grounded really is.

With that philosophy RS any place in the world can be the best place in the world so Thailand has nothing on nothing. It's all up to you. Both the haters and lovers are correct. But the lovers are probably at peace. That's where we should all be.

Interesting insight from the old guy Thailazer.

IMHO it all boils down to your lot in life. I suspect if I was as "old as dirt" and had arrived there in my late 50's/early 60's then my view on everything would probably be grand. I mean why wouldn't it be? I think this is primarily due in part that at an older age you are not doing much. You can be a recluse to a great degree. Life is pretty much on auto pilot and very structured. Of course a persons make up(sedentary Vs hyperactive) must have a huge effect on their view of things.

I really do not see the west as boring, but to do a lot of things does take a lot of money. I find that more irritating then anything. People living in the west with money are quite content but others with far less have a more "trapped" feeling. Thailand can be a excellent place to live. I had a great experience traveling and living North to South. I personally enjoyed it and will as I travel/move back and forth. Maybe when I am an old fart and my capabilities to go off and do the things I like have diminished, I might be that guy that is grounded.

As for have and have nots in societies, I've been and seen plenty of have nots that are very happy in life. I've also known plenty of Haves that are miserable in life. Whats your point? It is what it is. Accept who and what you are. Make the most of your life and do what you are capable of doing. Contribute to the world and don't be one of those that "take," all the time. Its not about you, its about being part of the whole. If you don't like your life the way it is, do something that changes it.

Move to Texas if that makes you happy. Thailand has a notorious reputation, well deserved no doubt about it, but not all of us ex-pats are worthless retards taking the piss out of Thailand or Thais.

No doubt you'd find many of us ex-pats pretty worthwhile individuals who have made life decisions based on our personal goals, values, ethics and experience. Its not about perception, its about reality.

Only two female cousins are well fit. One I've already done and the other I haven't who stays over and sits on my sofa wearing next to nothing. The older one would crucify me if I went there and I would be really grounded if anyone else found out.

The thought of it all..my dad would beat me black and blue.

Naaah man I retired at 48. But I guess "Old as dirt" is left to interpretation...

I was merely commenting that Thailazer had stated the guy was old as dirt. I assume that he was quite old. 75 and above?

As I said It really all boils down to your lot in life. I gave a different perspective to what the old fella stated. Nothing more. But I still believe if you are significantly older things are viewed totally different.

Can you get off the slagging the west for once in your life?
If its really such a shitty disgusting place to live, guess what, no-one is forcing you to live here. I will guess though that your hatred of it didnt stop you from doing your schooling here, going to the doctor, and having a saftey net if you lose your job. You really are an idiot, I used to blame it on your age, but i think its just that you are an idiot.

I don't qualify for any FUCKING safety nets because I have too much wealth on the books. I could live for 10 years without working.

Where the FUCK should I live ? I cant save enough wealth fast enough to retire that early because of progressive income taxes.

I moved from one province to another and I had to pay my doctors fees out of pocket because the paper work was not through. And the cocksuckers sent my old address the bill and then docked me on my credit rating and sent a collections agency after me and i didnt even know I owed.

SoCal has often said he was ready to back to the west, so he can't be that anti-west.

Tonight when my cousin bends over I can fully see her breasts, I've had an erection all night and relieved myself twice.

When she stays over for a few days I ground myself indoors
