snoop was the standout character for me. gave me the chills watching and listening to her.

stephen king called her "perhaps the most terrifying female villain to ever appear in a television series."

She was a mere droid compared to Chris Partlow - but yes, a ruthless sadistic female assassin if there ever was one.

Yes The Wires great , though it's American so has to be politically correct , so the main fag character is shown as super tough cool killer , instead of the mincing hysterical limp wristed hairdresser he would be in real life.

The best bit in the whole series is the following clip , it also contains one of the best opening theme tunes ever , by Domaje.

Speaking of the Wire's opening themes of the song
    Way down In The hole
you can get them from kickass torrents, note they are in a lovely FLAC ,
but playable on VLC Media Player or on dedicated free music player Foobar2000
    a paltry 79 mb - bargain !

the other good version is by the Blind Boys of Alabama ,

I'm the same as TFP, I keep falling asleep through episode 1. Something about some guy called snot bogie, then bam, I'm out cold.

It does get great reviews so i will try again

    Although.....

OI! I loved that! I have it all saved on my hard drive alongside the entire only fools and horses collection.

I guess I'm the only one here that hasn't seen The Wire then.

    I'll get downloading...

You crack me up Blue. Ever heard of the Crays or Dominic Noonan? Why are most Brit gangsters gay? And the gay ones in America are only on tv?

That seals it then! Fucking excellent program!

I loved the episodes where he had to stay over night in some remote village in the deepest darkest parts of the Amazon and you could just tell by his cheeky little grin in the morning that he'd banged one of the local tribe girls.

^Absolutely agree with both you guys. I just started rewatching it a few months ago.

Boardwalk Empire is growing on me now.

You have to stick with The Wire through the first few episodes to really get a sense of it- after that, it's absolutely riveting.

Note that two main characters (McNulty and Springer Bell) are Limeys who do an amazing job with their American accents (especially Dominic West as McNulty- he slipped up a couple of times, but it was very rare).
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Wire was excellent. Latest new cop show, Southland is pretty decent. One off the track I miss is Deadwood, not cops and robbers but earthy western gold fields stuff.
    Any one watching "Breaking Bad?"

Best series ever on TV and being a Limey I prefer Brit stuff so it really has to be good to reach #1

Yes..season 1 is pretty hardcore. I have them all DL'd and watch. Justified is quite a good series as well. Sadly it is on syndicated TV(FX) and while it is on the edge it lacks that grittiness.

Can't abide Justified. Midget Texas Ranger's put me off. Got to be all of 5'6"...naw

Dexter was pretty good til they started the wholesale business of mass murderers, as if it was the latest craze. Still, pound for pound if your into blood and guts, Dexter wins hands down.
