:smileylaughing: yup!
Feel for you, been there - 18 months ago was using a week old angle grinder and disc cutting light steel when the head started vibrating followed by an almighty bang. Looked at my left hand and it was spurting out a fountain of blood. The missus wrapped a couple of towels around the wound and we headed to the local clinic 10kms. away. (The first time I've seen a Thai move so fast). As I was getting into the car I noticed that I had another gusher coming out of my leg, wrapped that, got to the clinic, then ambulance to the hospital. End result was an emergency op. for a smashed first knuckle, compound fracture to the first finger and nerve and tendon damage to first two fingers of left hand. Thanks to a great surgical team at the Uttaradit Hospital and a week of first class nursing care (private room) and 3 months in a cast I have regained over 50% use of my hand. Although the shorter, bent first finger and numbness gets a few funny looks when I keep dropping my knife or fork when eating. The leg and nicked artery were stitched up and A1. All this damage caused by a small cutting wheel shattering. "Made In Thailand"
Best of luck mate and heal well, I now take your No.4 option
Got an old chap out fixing some things this morning using an unguarded angle grinder for all sorts of things. The look on his face, especially when it slips and spins towards him is classic.
Get the first aid kit out mate.Quote:

Burmese painter dies on first day at work after cutting self with grinding disc
This morning, a 35-year-old Burmese painter was found dead in a two-story house on Soi Borommaratchonnani 68 in the Taweewattana district.
According to Dailynews, the deceased, later identified as Lu A-loy, accidentally cut his face with a four-inch-wide grinding disc. Upon arriving at the house, police found Lu lying in a pool of blood next to a still-active grinder.
Kayan Wangkeeri, a 45-year-old Thai man and Lu’s co-worker, told police that Lu just moved to the house yesterday to prepare for his first day of work.
Lu’s body will be sent to Siriraj Hospital for a thorough forensic examination, Dailynews reports.
Next time I'm up I will get a pic of cousins stomach he sliced open trying to cut floorboards with same same LT
I purchased a new angle grinder to cut bricks building a new wall. The other grinder went into the klong.
Anyway all guards positioned but still they are a dangerous piece of equipment even when you are doing everything by the book.
Hire a hand for the grinder work. Problem solved.:)
One of the problems with angle grinders is over familiarity. Once you've had one for a while and used it scores of times without mishap you start to get careless and let your guard down. That's often when disaster strikes.
No matter how long you've had one or how many times you've used it for little jobs, treat it with the same respect it always deserves.
Yup, absolutely true ;)Quote:

I have a 5 " with a carving attachment
