so long and thanks for all the somtam

after 4 years im moving on
the opportunity to repatriate the money id invested here came along so ive decided to call it quots on Thailand and spend a year or so sailing
theres some things i suspect i miss, right now they appear insignificant against the cons of settling here

Thailand has always been a corrupt and flawed fiefdom, but ive become more and more concerned theplace might go the way of cambodia in the 1970s. of course thats wildly pessimistic but i prefer to spwnd the next few years watching from the sidelines

teakdoor has been a companion for much of my time here, so ill say a fond farewell to the posters here and make a point to post a thread or two on the next chapters of l and f's wanderings

Yea, good luck, I wish I could relive my sailing days around the Hauraki gulf, and the Whitsunday islands and Pacific islands but I fear those days are sadly behind me .

Good luck. I've been mulling over moving myself, it's a tough call for me, I guess it took a lot of consideration for you too?

I always wanted to go back to the Adriatic myself. Sort of planned to drift that way at some point. But now with the Horn of Africa probs, well we will see. Enjoy and I wish you fair winds at your back.

Funny you said about always being a farang, one of the things that I have enjoyed about Canada the most is being a foreigner. Like being on permanent holiday!

I don't see a Khmer Rouge event happening in Thailand.

Good luck though and sounds great.

Wish I had the get up and go to get up and go sometimes.
