    samsung Shat

Fuck it im buying an iphone next. My new galaxy advance is fucked now, wont turn on. Thats 2 now with the 16000 baht galaxy tab 7 plus that was apparently water damaged. I have a galaxy tab 10 2 as well which wont fakkin charge when im using it plugged in.

    Anyone else having problems ?

My missus 8000 baht sony neo l hpone feels better quality than this 13000 baht galaxy advance th at just died today.

By the way, would using these devices in different countries affect them, even though the multi plug i use says it has surge protection.

Im off down Samsungs head office here on Monday. I dont hold much hope in thailand though, so will probably dump them in their bin and go buy an iphone or sony

I'm having that issue with an iPhone 4. Won't charge via mains, USB, swapping to different chargers etc etc. Dunno what's up with it. It'll get to 5% then tell me 'charging is not supported with this accessory'.

I now have a Sony Experia S and it is perfect. There is a newer model out now, the "T", but I'm not sure it has any real advantages over the "S". This makes the "S" incredibly good value now as most suppliers have reduced its price dramatically.

You're probably using a no-name, third party charger that is badly designed. I've had this happen previously - cheap charger, iPhone doesn't charge or misbehaves. Authentic charger, and everything works fine.

It's not a matter of having to buy an authentic charger, more a case of not buying a shite one.

As for Samsung Android phones crapping out - no surprise. Coulda saved yourself spending multiple times the cost of a single iPhone.

I'm having the same issue with my Remington hair clippers. Twice this month I've started shaving my head only for the power to die when I'm half finished. I've had to go out looking like a right twat.

not now . but 5 yrs ago or such I had an old Sony phone. it wouldn't charge using a UK charger for more than a minute in Thailand .
take it home n it charged ok.
I bought a Thai charger and all ok.
I've noticed this with other gadgets too.

Yup - Oi, Samsung - NO!

While you may respectably corner the market with nifty flat faced screens a snip at twice the price, your smart phones are rather dense.

    Galaxy Y.

Great for about 2 months - then started switching itself off. Samsung in Pantip had it 3 times. Each time they replaced something else and problem kept happening. They even replaced the main board. I took it to main centre in Silom and they diagnosed a faulty battery and replaced it. A few weeks ago it stopped getting along with my sim and now can't get online with it other than wirelessly.

    I wouldn't buy another one.

Next one I'll get the best one google/motorola have to offer

In the states Samsung was #1; here, after getting burned on their first quality TV and a first quality refrigerator, I've had it with Samsung. No more Samsung in this house.
Now, if I can just figure out who the hell makes decent quality in LOS.

I was going to do a similar thread to this a couple of days ago, was out with a few Thais and noticed they all had the same phone as me, ie nokia c3, now my phone stays in doors unless I am away for a day or 2so rarely notice others phones or have any interest in them.

But if I wasnted something hot and sexy it would be the samsung, their lowest of the lowest is hotter than a pink nokia with flashing leds, yet all these had the same old boring nokia as me, maybe they all agree samsung is crap, for me nokia is ok for the occasionally internet when I am away and thats about it.

I've had my Nokia for around half a decade.

    It calls people.
    Messages people.
And wakes me up in the morning.

All I need or want in a phone.

Think it cost 600b in Big C.

Think it will still be okay in another half a decade while you lot are on your 5th iTwat 69 due to them breaking after a few months, despite costing 17,000 a pop.

I was happy like that for a few decades too.

However, having a mobile with an online operating system is like going from square wheels to round or coal to nuclear.

It's like trying to explain the effects of LSD to someone that has never tripped before.

This is an incredibly cheap smartphone that does all the things you need it to do.. and if/when it pisses on your cornflakes you won't be so angry about all the money you spent on it...

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

The Nokia Win7.5/8 phones are all I'd consider at the moment. The Midget has an entry level one and it's a solid little unit.
