The reason why it's safe to collect them at that pint is that when bees are fully gorged with honey, they can't and don't sting.
It5's only when the collector gets scared and sends out adrenalin that the bees will attack when they smell it, or if the collector damages a bee, then others will smell the damaged bee and attack any threat around.
As a young chap, I'd collect a swarm stark naked just to impress the maiden in distress who's house the swarm had landed near. :)
One trick was to locate the queen and pick her up and put her in my beard, then the whole swarm would climb onto my beard, then I'd walk over to the base box I had ready and gently remove the queen, place her in the box and the whole swarm would crawl and drop off me into the box and I' wouldn't even collect one sting.
The ladies were impressed, I was suitably rewarded for my efforts. :mid:
