OK here is the SP. doing some maintenance on the pool cleaning the infinity overflow pool. I pumped it dry, cleaned it and replaced some of the sealant at the top of the liner. Left it for a day and topped it up this morning. Then I got to thinking. Before I can start circulating the water either back into the main pool or the fountain pool I have to prime the pump downstairs as I had run it till it ran dry. No big deal just set the pump off and run the hose in where the leaf filter is till it starts pumping. A 2 minute job in other words.
What if I am a pool newbie farang and doesn't know it just needs priming ?
Let battle commence.
I called 2 Farang pool engineers here on the island and 2 Thai ones. When I called i simply explained that the pump had stopped working. I switch it on and nothing happens. I played the dumb farang. Not hard you all might be saying
I asked if they can come take a look and give me a quote to fix it. 3 coming tomorrow and the other first thing Monday morning.

I had a slanging match with some loud mouth know it all American pool maintenance guy from Phuket.
He was trying to convince me that he was the only person in Thailand who could service pools correctly because he was the only person who knew anything about Thai water.
If you have the dubious pleasure of meeting the same guy then you will need a very large sack to put all the bullshit in.

Farang pool engineers who may be members here couldn't help themselves from bragging / posting about it here so i don't think I have any worries in that department.
