    Am I the only one?

I went out to do some shopping , just bin liners , cotton bud's and anti acid jollop . I go back in the house and the girlfriends no where to be seen .

The Tv is on , the two lounge room fans are on, a bedroom fan is on and the light in the toilet is on , her laptop sat on the coffee table is on , I go stomping around the house muttering to my self , ive told you a thousand times, turn it off when its not needed .

Then she saunters in with her normal I don't have a care in the world facial expression , I ask where she's been and with a broad smile proudly boasts , next door to see the neighbour . Apparently the girlfriend had a dream last night , which to me sounded more like a bad case of stomach acid taking its toll on a somtam , any way her dream resulted in a kind spirit handing over a winning lottery number , which she just had to share with the dumb neighbour .

So am I the only person who has to carry the constantly turning things off yoke , am I the only person who gets upset when they see a Tv playing to its self , or a fan blowing onto no one , or numerous electric lights burning away in empty rooms .

    Am I the only one?

You'll be sorry and apologise when the winning lottery ticket comes good.

Nope - but you gotta learn to live with it. My other halfs likes to have the tv blaring away on some soap while watching Korean dramas on the computer.....

I see the connection here but there is no cure for lottery number mystery appearances.

Annoys me when they turn things off at the power socket out of habit. Something to do with safety I think but annoying when it takes 2 minutes to realise why the kettle is not starting to boil.

It's to prevent them from frying in a lightning storm, due to most electrical in Thailand having crap grounding.

And then there is the perversity in their thinking, when they only want sex with the lights off!

    What he said.

That Saraute dude on Channel 3 rabbits on with that annoying voice for hours on end. If the missus isn't in the room watching him, I mute the puke.

I get tired of trying to get the family to turn off lights so I just remove the bulbs.

I got a couple of rechargeable torches, really pisses them off....

No, but I've got 2 kids who leave lights on and don't flush the loo as well.

Fortunately, I had the foresight to ban chong kwai in our house so I don't have to put up with the inaneness of Channels 3 & 7.

The noise of ads and Thai soap operas irritate me, so I convinced my wife to use cordless headphones. She doesn't mind, either !

Two approaches - sit her down and explain to her extensively about global warming, and how it is important that everyone does their bit. Or, say she in charge of paying the electric bill and you will give her the amount in cash of the last bill to pay it. If the bill is less come the end of the month she keeps the difference. Hope you like having no aircon, no light, fridge not turned on.....
