Since you asked; I came to Thailand as a manufacturing engineer for an American toy company. 90% of the time I was the only farang managing 120 Thai employees. I had a Thai assistant who spoke English pretty well so, it worked. All the production and finishing, testing, troubleshooting and redesign (when necessary) was done here in Thailand.
Okay, to the point; I've got almost 40 years in manufacturing and I found my crew and the 90+ assemblers/finishers/packagers to be smart, hardworking, imaginative, great problem solvers, innovative, resourceful and generally wonderful people to work with and supervise.
It would seem to me I have a fair idea about Thai people and their work ethic. I like it even if compared to western workers. Their critical thinking skills were quite good, far better than what I've experienced as a teacher here. My experience has expanded over the years here to include bronze foundries and unique manufacturing companies; all Thai owned and run.
I'm not selling anything; but I call bullshit when I see it. I have my gripes, but I usually get over it and move on. What's life without a few well placed challenges, eh?
    Cheers,
I make money with my Thai workers.

It seems the Thais did invent something useful.
Operating table for elephantsOnly in Thailand would they think of this invention. It’s an operating table for elephants, it’s can be raised so the elephant will be lying down or standing up, it has heavy duty pulleys on it so that doctors can operate on the animal without it causing a stir. There’s one for the record books.
