Thai Maids - what about your underpants draw

I keep seeing advertisements from farangs looking for Thai maids , some live in some just a few hours a week. Now call me strange or obsessive but the thought of having some one rummaging through my under pants draw or collection of special leather restraining straps , when I'm not at home , makes me shudder. I'm aware that there may be some benefits in retaining a maid when it comes to looking after a house , but to get home and find my private things have been molested , is some thing thing that makes me feel quiet queasy .

So are you using the services of a maid, if not would you ever consider using one .

I've got two full-time, live-in maids. No concerns, as I have nothing to hide.

Same maid for over ten years. Rummaging is not the problem. Finding one that is honest is the key.

Having said the above, our main problem is that our daughter has grown up with a maid. Currently, our maid is not allowed in our daughter's room. We have to constanly remind her that Nut is our maid and not hers.

Had a sweet little beeatch (18 yrs) we wanted to help out, who came to us for a day's cleaning... from a friend who owns a cleaning business...pays his recruits 7,000 baht per month...I guess he hadn't trained her yet...it was her first day...300baht...we took turns watching the house...I even gave her 350 baht to help her...couldn't do much right...poor thing...the Thai-grr (my missus) noticed her wearing her gold watch at the local 7/11 later in the evening...quickly remedied by a phonecall to her potential boss, our mutual friend...

My apartment in Yangon has a Burmese maid, provided free by the landlord.

I came home early one day and caught her 'frottering' against my underwear that was hanging up to dry in my bedroom.

She had also left a fair-sized turd in my toilet...

I will be moving to a new condo soon, so I'll have to see if she can clean my new accommodation....

We have a lady come in 3-4 times a week, she's been working for us for about 6 years now.

She's brilliant and has free reign around the house, if she (or we) shift things around and we can't find them she'll remember where they are.

On school holidays and stuff she might bring her kids with her too, but they are welcome as our pets love the kids and I'll just fire up a spare computer which keeps the kids occupied if they aren't helping her out.

She has a key so she can come and go if we are out of town.

I'm not concerned about her dealing with my underpants, unless she asks me to buy her an expensive HazMat suit to do it.

I have no problem with it.

You think it's pretentious Jeff, how quaint. Having staff gives us quality time to spend with each other and our children rather than rushing around doing housework etc.

Does paying a "maid" pittance in a developing country give you guys some kind of "rich lifestyle" illusion?

Why can't your Thai wife do the cooking and the cleaning? Too busy at work? Doubt it

Yes, I'm sure that's a primal priority for you - quality time with your family.

You're gonna let some useless piece of developing country pussy sit on her already-lazy arse even more? You're proving her and her family a decent lifestyle the least she can do is some cooking and cleaning.

Even western wives with their own careers and aspirations manage to do a bit of housework, clean up, and cook the dinner.

I had a maid for about 3 months way back in 2004, she was mainly there to make sure the cats got fed and the small pathetic garden stayed free of pests (snakes were a common sight) She was a friend of one of the compounds caretakers and apart from the cats and garden, she didn't know her arse from her elbow. Thick as pig shit left in the sun.

I always reckoned that she was planted there for me to seduce, but I didn't take the bait, as she was well......fucking ugly.

That's all you needed to say!

Is it possible for a Thai wife to allow this?

This is not a good start. Rule number 1 never ask what you're allowed to do.

We had a maid/cleaner for while when I was growing up in the UK, so why is it only something done in developing countries. It's nothing to do with a rich lifestyle. In our cause it was more to do with mum having to work so she needed help keeping the house clean.

I had a maid in Bangkok who would come in and do the ironing & cleaning twice a week. I wouldn't have a live-in maid as we only want family in the house.

It's a very big house - I sure as hell am not cleaning it. Or doing all the laundry two teenagers generate. Or doing the dishes. If that's pretentious, so be it.
