Here's the idea:
I produce a Lakorn song but instead of some lovesick Somchai with an old motocy and not 2 baht to rub together pining for a woman who runs off with a guy with a pickup I theme it to a Farang in Thailand.
Basically the video will pan out thus:
Farang at the airport all smiles and wonderment.
Farang at a bar all happy as he meets and chats to a beautiful Thai girl.
Farang and Thai girl travel around temples and end up at parents place. Shots of tender hand holding, Girl feeding the guy.
Farang proposes to Thai girl, all is love.
Gets married. Shot of big wedding and bewildered Farang.
Builds house. Shot of poor workmanship and builders sitting under a tree drinking Lao Khao
Wife starts to throw money around, family have new pickup.
Extended family partying every night.
Farang starts to get concerned.
Wife gets pregnant.
Starts to unravel, Farang goes back to work to keep wife and family in money.
Shot of sad Farang working away while wife is gambling and living it up. Much gold.
Farang comes back to Thailand to find it gone pear shaped, wife seems uncomfortably close to brother. Music builds to a crescendo.
Argues with wife, family turn on him.
Life unbearable Farang says goodbye to child and leaves.
Shot of Farang misty eyed flying out of Swampy with that wistful claranet type music playing.
Last shot is of girl back in a bar chatting up another Farang.
All through the video, lots of shots of Farang standing at an ATM. Maybe at every chorus.
What do you reckon? I think it will be a winner!
But would it get any airplay? I think I could approach the people who produce the Thai stuff and tell them to get to it.
Still working on the lyrics. Titled?
"Farang Mai Mee Dtung"?
At least the Farangs would have something to sing at Kareoke. Album to follow up, would be great to slip that cd in the car on those long family trips
