    Haircuts

Do you cut your own hair? The numbered buzz cuts seem to be in these days. Or do you visit a barber or hair stylist? What is the cost of a good cut, and what does it include? For me I dont get a hair wash but I do get a full shave.

With all the rising prices in Thailand I would say getting your hair cut here is a much better value than back in the west. I myself go to a shop that caters to the Thai Air Force. Today I went at the scheduled time of 9am only to be told there was a queue of three. One in the chair and two waiting, all officers. Much younger than me waiting for their dye job.

Went back at 1pm and had a great cut.

Yeah I shave mine, partly because I've done it for years and partly because I'm going a bit bald.

I had my last hurrah with a barber last year. I looked like Tintin so I promptly shaved it all when I got home.

Zero all over. Used to do it myself but my clippers broke so now I go to the Japanese booths in Thaniya plaza.

You put your 100bt in the machine and as the guys shaving your head, he pulls a vacuum cleaner out of the ceiling and sucks all the bits of hair off before it goes down the back of your neck. Guaranteed to take less than 10mins but I had mine done yesterday and he was done in about 3mins.

Got a bit weird yesterday though when he put his finger in my ear to protect it from the suction.

Down the barbers once a month.

Haircut, ear nose and forehead shave, head and neck massage, quick shot of lau kau.
    60 baht all in.

I always go for a number 4 all over (yes I still have some hair).

The last time I went to a Thai barber, the silly woman got halfway through doing a number 4 and then declared her cutter was blunt! Left my hair style looking like a complete twat!

in truth, when in Thailand I go to my favourite Katoey hair cutter

she does an excellent job and doesn't rub up against me like some of those vulgar women do

he/she manages to cut my hair and stop any stray bits getting down my neck; at the end she gets out her massive blower and gives my head a real wind job

all for B60 plus her tip
    I have reported your post

Six weeks for me and a three day growth of beard. Trims the stash and all, for the same price but the big spender I am I have just upped to a hundred. 55 minutes in the chair and no shampoo. I mean every stray head on my head and face is gone, eyebrows as well.

Same here, but without the shot of lao kao. I give him 100 baht and move on. Been going to him for two years now. Miss the Playboy mags usually found in US Barber shops.

I brought some Remington ceramic cutters over 10 years ago for £20 still okay now must have saved well over £300 just a simple number 3 for me takes around 2 minutes.
Twice a year i splash out 80 baht in the local salon either Lott or Nang cuts my hair must admit they do a better job than me.

How the fcuk can you get a good shave from a Thai barber ? They only use blades that's as sharp as the average IQ. As for haircuts, I'm lucky enough to have enough hair to ask for a style cut.

The missus cuts mine. I sit on a stool (not a turd-type stool.....) and sometimes I can manage to grab her tits a bit while she's doin' me bonce - otherwise no tip.

Come to think of it - no tip, anyway...

    Kinky!
Must make a mental note of having clean undies on if I ever stumble across your barbers.
