Granted I haven't been home in a while. Nearly 15 years ago I got a job with a 'small firm', shift work, 55K AUD. I was 20 and no education.

My mate's a carpet cleaner (owns the franchise), he's pushing 6 figures.

Another mate in Brisbane didn't finish Uni but scored a job in the field he study's (town planning) and is now working for a development firm on 120K a year after working for them a year.

6 years ago my sister's walked out of an engineering degree into a 55K starting salary.

Don't think I know many people at all who make less than 50K and I'm coming from the arse end of Australian society.
