an article from atimes about the facebook thingy - it is a hot topic again because of its IPO

a quote from the article
facebook is not something I will use as I think they do find out far more about you from their use of javascript in their like button that slather the internet pages - most people would never be aware of the insidious tracking of their web browsing that is fed back to facebook because they have a facebook account and do not whitelist javascripts per URLNo one is likely to learn much about anyone else by reading their Facebook page, or, indeed, by becoming their Facebook "friend". A Facebook page is constructed to maximize our appeal and white out our warts. We learn as little from the pages of Facebook "friends" as prospective employers learn about job candidates from a resume.
but beyond that , are peoples facebook pages just a storefront where they try and be the mostest individual , cooolest cucumber etc etc , and does not show very much about the reality ?
will this be the reason that facebook dies - when people realise that everyone is faking ?
