What has Isaan and Chiang Mai got?

To The Isaanites and Chiang Maians on here...

If you had to move to Bangkok, what would you miss?

What couldn't you get in Bangkok, that you can get in Isaan or Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a good base for out doors type stuff, a lot to do within 1 hour drive. What does it have that BKK doesn't?......Hill Tribes?

the freedom to do what the hell you want, whenever the hell you want to.
no sewer stench; a simple uncomplicated lifestyle amongst simple uncomplicated people; little or no traffic, cheap food, booze and women; some wildlife left that has escaped the pot; no crowded shopping malls, and the scamsters are so ameteurish that it is almost a joke.
leave your house and car unlocked, etc etc.
isaan has it's faults, but once you get used to it, it is a laugh a minute-clowns everywhere you look, kind of like being a kid again, no matter what your age.

on the few occasions i HAD to visit bangkok, i couldn't wait to get the fuk outta there.

You're obviously talking about Isaan, not CM.

I've been in Bangkok for a week now after having lived in Udon for the last 3 years. To be honest, Bangkok is boring unless you want to go out and get drunk and pay for/chase women. In Udon I can jump in the car/bike and be anywhere pretty quickly, here I have to hail a taxi. At least Bankok is traffic free at the moment. It's hotter here and stickier. I get overwhelmed by the choice of foodstuffs available in Villa, but much of it is either over-processed shit or not as good quality as I can get in Udon. Chefs XP is making life a bit more bearable though.

The main thing Udon has that Bangkok hasn't is my Midget.

I agree with Dr Andy, Isaan and CM are way way different. I just spent some time in both recently(Not to far into Isaan country but far enough).

I will say one thing you would not miss going from CM to BKK is the friggen smoke and relentless burning. But you get it all back with diesel smell and noise. Chose your poisons I suppose

Isaan is Isaan. Its really almost a country on its own.

    Quite right Andy

Songkhran in the Isaan willage over the past 2 days has been wonderful. Lots of stunning smiley girls (wet t-shirts) flaunting their stuff amid the music.

With fresh jungle air the chances of living into your 80's here must be greatly enhanced if we compare it with the smog that both Bangkok and Chiang Mai has on offer.

Same can be said for down south from Surat Thani on. The air quality was simply awesome. With all the heavy vegetation the air was crisp and clean everyday and with Palm and Rubber tree orchards no one is burning rice fields. It was a total different living life style down there. I really enjoyed it.

There is a method to my madness, i had this Eureka moment while reading Fondles how to get his Motorbike from Phuket to Pattaya thread.

There are Teakdoor Members dotted all around the country, so we all chip in, buy a Motorbike and all take turns on this Motorbike, moving it all around the country. Then I got to thinking, WTF do we need some Isaanites for? and as this thread shows, there is nothing you can stick on The Teakdoor Transporter that we need in Bangkok or South from there, unless someone wants a box of fresh air Oh hang on I do see the Midgets up there, maybe if she has a sister..........

Anyway what I can't get here in Cha Am is a decent looking bargirl. I know there's loads in Pattaya and Bangkok, that can be stuck on the bike and transported over. In return I have seafood and cheese and Erdinger and sand and a bucket, hmmm I guess Loy Toy has all that too.

Anyway whaddya reckon, imagine Somtamslap waking up to a Mc Donalds Sausage and Egg McMuffin (albeit yesterdays)

    Right who's in ?

I'm sure I posted a tits in t-shirt pic of the youngest one before, but I'm not at home for another week, so don't have access to it at the moment.

The other one is a bit blokey, but is married with 2 kids.
