Who are the happiest and content Americans?

Now to all you Yanks out there this is not another American bashing thread moreover I am interested to find out who are the happiest and content in the US of A and why.

I am presently here in Denver Colorado and to say I am impressed with the way I have been welcomed by people I know and don't know would be an understatement.

People, whether you find them in Restaurants, public places of interest or those you meet on the street seem so happy and content and basically I assume they are because of their happy and polite demeanor.

I have also spent some time in Lansing Michigan and found the same warm people who would go out of their way to help others.

Is it the country people who are more happy with their lot when compared to their big city cousins?

^^ it looks like a simple enough Q to me, but not living or from the USofA I'm sadly unable to answer it.

^ it's 'contentiest' you ignorant bloody Australian (and yes we are gonna slaughter SL tomorrow...).

I've only been to LA, Anaheim and Vegas (each several times on business), found the people very nice in all places, particularly Anaheim when I found a local bar playing great blues (quite close to Disneyland, but over a highway, so no other tourists).
    Cycling should be banned!!!

South Florida seems to have a lot of happy people. If it is warm then we are happy!

We like to being unhappy and fist fighting in Chitown - so no for there.

OK, I'll give my opinion about why I believe the people of Colorado are pretty happy with their lot.

    1. I have been told that the laws regarding the private use of marijuana are quite reasonable.

    2. In this state you don't have wear a motor bike helmet.

Looks like an impossible question to me.

I don't believe there have ever been "happiness assessments" done in the states.

I've worked as a Sociologist and Social worker here in the U.S. for over 20 years and I've never heard of such a survey.

As far as "Content" is concerned the OP obviously has a bit of a problem with the English language.

Then again maybe I'm just not understanding. I look forward to you explaining what you mean, precisely.

Oh, OK. It's just a bit of a joke question.
It's not that you're actually posting a question of serious import.

I was sitting in a local open pub with a bunch of locals and a few that have migrated to Colorado from other states on Saturday night. I had a pretty decent chat with most of the people there at some point during the evening hence my OP question.

The foreigners, and if I can term them as that, all seemed happy to be living in Colorado state rather then their state of birth.

Maybe I should have asked which American State is the best governed and for the people.

Maybe you should have. It still seems a nonsense question to me.
