^Interesting. You lied to someone, since you claim to have entered the Army at 16 and you can't join the military until you are 17, and only then with parents' written permission. You also can't be sent to a war zone until you have passed your 18th birthday, but you claim to have arrived in Korea one month after you turned 17. If you actually were there a month after you turned 17, which I don't for one minute believe, then it couldn't have been qualified as a war zone or you couldn't have been sent. And, if it didn't qualify as a war zone, and as the war had ended two years earlier, then how do you qualify as a 'Veteran of Foreign Wars'? And you were there for a three-month tour of duty? I doubt it. In fact, I don't believe any of it.

    Does it truly matter, Davis?
There is nothing special and exceptional towards soldiering or extending romantic notions in reference to militarism.

^That's very true. And no, it doesn't matter a bit. What pisses me off is this holier-than-thou bible thumper running on and on about GOD'S WORD, when he himself is, trapped by his own words, full of crap. That said, it doesn't matter at all.

On this you are correct. My mother got me a certificate saying that my original birth certificate had been burned in a fire and swore that I was born one year earlier. So when I turned 16 I claimed to be 17 and my mother did sign for me. I didn't get this certificate to join the army, I got it to get a Social Security Card so I could quite school and go to work to help my family. However, the certificate did pass and I was accepted by the army as being 17.

I really, legally turned 17 on 14 May 1955. At the time of my arrival in Korea I was still 16 years old but the army thought I was 17. As far as the other stuff you said about being 18 to go to a war zone and whether it was considered such - take it up with the US Congress. They make the laws.

As far as what you believe or don't believe, I don't mean to cut you short but I really don't give a fuck what you believe.

You are very correct RS - it does not matter. I was simply a young kid trying to help my family and at the same time get away from a bad home life.

Well of course you do, Chuck.

Wouldn't expect anything less from a former military [serial killer of the state] lifer as yourself.

    Pathetic.

There is a certain simplicity to life when it depends on the willingness of another to share your trench. It has nothing to do with god or religion, just a simple act of faith in each other.

It's not which 'god' they're all the same god, it's which WORD is that?
What word, because there are many alleged gods and they all have their words.

Is that correct Davis? I have it on good authority that the average age of soldiers in Vietnam was N-n-n-n-n-n-nineteen.

Since many of the soldiers were in their 20s and 30s then for an average age of N-n-n-n-n-n-nineteen that would suggest that many of them would also have to be E-e-e-e-e-eighteen, S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-seventeen and possibly S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-sixteen

I was in a secret war back in the 70s. Only a few people knew about it. Actually, just my two friends from childhood.

Tell that to Obama and his Navy Seals who capped OBL.
Liver lips is going to run hard on that during his campaign.
