I think DD is too busy at the moment to come up with a better idea.
There are a number of better galleries already pre-installed on the server. We went through all this years ago and the conclusion was that DD was too Thai to change it as he would lose face.
why would his face get lost? pics of DD are two a penny
i would get loads of pic threads up if the system was faster, as it is i just cant be fekked with all the fekking about
I know
we have lost a genius
I have just always used photobucket. Marmers taught me to use the gallery here, but I was too thick to remember it.
the process is a bit of a ball ache, but works well enough.
I edit the size (web large or small) of the photos in a folder on my desk top prior to uploading them into the gallery. The only reason I have not started my construction thread is because it takes me so long to load the pictures with my @$%'n ^!$@& retarded bull S%# network I use. Just load the photos it takes me a month of Sundays. As soon as i get 'em all loaded I will start my thread. (One of these days)
I want a start a photobucket account but I am lazy and really do not like to store info on-line. Could say I am superstitious.
As far as posting pictures, I open 2 windows and copy and paste them. Works for me all the time. Another way I found to do it easily is to open an Google image search with "teakdoor gallery and my user name", then copy and paste the pictures that belong to me and that I wanna use via 2 open windows.
He is an quick Google example:

Yes I trust DD with my photo's, he has my e-mail account on file of me and I never got any weird e-mails. Just the Monthly TD newsflyer.
Thanks DD
Just open a Photobucket account and use that.
Also that way if you want to remove the photos just delete one (even unrelated) photo from your photobucket account and the remaining pics on your photobucket account are reordered and will not connect to your TD account so even if you are banned you don't need to login to remove photos and you can remove ALL photos by just deleting ONE photo from photobucket.
(If anyone should be so inclined to flounce in such a way).
yes, me too, but the size in the post does not change whatever the reduction may beOriginally Posted by Carrabow

First , download ACDC free from here :
acdsee 8 photo manager downloads - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET
I use version 8 because I'm used to it but there are more recent versions.
With this you can reduce or enlarge your pictures to any size you want before uploading to TD. I keep the settings I use so that the next time out it is simpler to resize using the settings I have saved.
With this program you can also crop your pictures and tinker with the contrast and brightness too.
Once uploaded into your TD gallery the rest is simple because you've done the tricky stuff already and all you have left to do is copy and paste.
Easy peasy.
Or Pixresizer.
The simplistic process in which to post pics here isn't terribly complicated.
I believe cautions and frustration derive from lack of practice - just doing it.
The image gallery to post proceedure could be worse....the mechanics and steps involved - uploading, downloading, editing. My only real pet peeve would be that it can be slow per commands.
An application [in the software] to allow editing/changing respective images would be helpful.....for those of us that have tonnes of pics and whatnot.
Download a picture re-sizer to your mouse and re-size pics before uploading, 600 x 800 is a good size.
The TD gallery works well once one gets it in to his brain how to actually do it, its time consuming and my threads average out at a day a piece by the time I sort out what to post and then actually do it.
Ive got a 1000 pics from my last trip to Nam and Hong Kong to sort through and post up, need to get onto it but the effort involved is a major.
Of to Bali next week and will come back with a shit load more.
Foking hell. Its well worth the effort though as once its done one can refer back to them forever. Good stuff.
If I'm not mistaken, doesn't photobucket have time and content limitations and restraints?
Google's Picasa might be a better choice for personal items....if you don't mind whoring oneself out to Google registration and their systems. You have more personal control and ownership.
http://Imageshack.us allows you to resize as you upload, and then gives you the code to copy & paste into the forum.
more and more of the image hosts are being filtered at corporate firewalls
when I am inside my work network , TD pic threads only show the photos hosted on TD
yes, I have that and I resize my pics (you have to anyway, they are too big 3Mb)Originally Posted by Bangyai

I have posted loads of pics on many other Thai forums, I use the same user name as here in case anyone wants to check. I have never posted one on here cos it's too dammed difficult.
Wot's wrong with having a browse button like all the other forums.
Foking hell Doc, you got 20,000 odd posts up, you built that awesome house in the North and you cant suss out how to resize and post your pics on the " Door " ?
Step outside and ask a 10 year old, he'll sort you out.
Thank fok your not a front line " Firefighter ", the house would be burnt to the ground by the time you worked out how to put the pump in gear.
It's a security issue.Originally Posted by Lantern

haven't you noticed all my pics are the mediums
You are not resizing then, you are only compressing which reduces the quality. I don't know acdsee, so I don't know how it resizes but I am sure it can. Look for it.Originally Posted by DrAndy
The only thing I regret with the TeakDoor photo album is the awkward way to assign pictures to the albums. You need to do it one by one, instead of assigning all of them to the same album in one batch. Everything else is straightforward.
