I have decided that I will retire in two years.
I don’t have to but I’m pretty sure I will.
What will I do?
I have hobbies but that’s all they are and maybe they are not enough.
I was thinking, what kind of little business could I have that would
be easy to run, pay for itself and be enjoyable?
So I came up with the following idea and would like to hear
your comments:
I built a house in Phimai, (about 50 k north of Korat),
and that’s where I intend to live once I retire.
I thought I would buy, (in the wife’s name), about two Rai of land
on the outskirsts of Phimai and build a Gym.
(In any case the land and building would be an asset for her if
anything happened to me).
I have been weightlifting for around 3 years now and it has helped
me a lot and I have made remarkable progress in that time and that
is where I got the idea from.
They say that Issan people have no money. Well, a lot of them don’t
but from what I have observed there is a lot who do.
There are a few big houses round Phimai way and the kids are all
running around on new motor bikes / scooters and toting Iphones etc.
Everybody has a new pickup truck it seems.
The daily or monthly fees for the Gym in that area would not be
that much. I am sure that those who are interested could easily
afford it………but would they be interested……….I think they would.
In addition I reckon, if I could find a good aerobics teacher we
could get the young and old in there doing those crazy dance
routines they do. I think they would love all that shit.
I think if I market it properly I could get them interested.
I could pick up a couple Rai cheap enough and how hard
can designing a Gym be? I’ll look into that next.
I would get a kick out of teaching people how to weight
train properly and talk to them a bit about good nutrition etc.
If I got decent staff I would not need to be there all the time,
(just in case I had to go Europe or somewhere)
I mean a Gym runs pretty easily doesn’t it?,.........doesn't it?
It's just a drawing-board idea at this stage but I think it's
worth exploring.
So what do you think?
