    The Beatles.

This is probably going to earn me a few reds from the "Scousers" but I was just watching "Imagine - The John Lennon doco" from 1988. What a pretentious twat he bacame after he married that Nip bitch Yoko Ono!

The first ever song I heard on a turntable was "Hey Jude" back in the '60's.....Later I ended up putting plastic farm animals on the platter and revving it up to 78RPM and watching them fly off under centrifugal force! The fun we had .

Sad to watch some of it really, but if you take a look back, the only talent in the Beatles was Lennon and Harrison.

Ringo Starr (with two R's) was a talentless [at][at][at][at], (Reduced to Thomas the Tank Engine voiceovers- plus he couldn't play the drums for shit!) and Mc Cartney was a sharp business money grabbing sly fucking piece of shit - I am actually happy that that fucker got ripped off by his pirate wife! "Ahh hah me hearties...fucking Long John Silver!"

Every video, every take or film that you see of him, he is like that slimy twat Branson that tries to project an image as being "one of the boys" where in fact he is a scheming [at][at][at][at]!

God bless George Harrison, a REAL TALENT!

God bless Hugh Cornwall, Jet black. JJ Burnell and Dave Greenfield, your signatures on my many albums and singles have greatly increased their monetary value, yours too Iggy Pop, though it is an illegible scrawl.

I won't red you but I do beg to differ. I was listening to Revolver just the other day asking what it was that the Beatles had that made them so successful.

There are a lot of answers to this but one thing for sure is that they were well tight. Didn't need to be the greatest musicians individualy because when they got together they ' just had it '. An example is this fine track.

Don't know Gomez, pardon my ignorance, but I will look them up. (When I try to watch it it keeps coming ip "restricted" - I'll give it a look on youtube as I am always into some different sort of music......what about a bit of Nick Cave, or Leonard Cohen, The Animals....there were loads of bands better than the Beatles. Harrison on his own wrote some songs way better than Lennon ever could!

The Doors were streets ahead of the Beatles, and like I say, as far as I am concerned only Harrison and Lennon had any talent. Mc Cartney is /was a complete shit!

OK- I just found Gomez! They have done a few tracks for some recent movies - I have heard them before, YES they are quite good! (I like that Whippin Picadilly)

Maybe you will like these? (or not)

I think these are the same guys that did a movie a few years back where they just broke into shops and malls and started drumming on everything, it was really something different, I can't recall the name but I will do a bit of digging as it is one hell of an original movie!

I was more into bands like the Stranglers, Iggy Pop, Neil Young, The Doors, Zeppelin, Sabbath, Rainbow, Roger Whittaker, Slade, The Jam, sisters of Mercy, Public Image, The Pistols The Pogues ( Ifucking hated The Clash - a bunch of cunts apart from the "English Civil War" (I used to get beaten up in Newcastle on Saturdays by Teddy Boys and the Sham Army as I fitted into neither cliche - I liked punk, I like R'n'R, classical a bit of everything I suppose. Everyone seemed to want to put you in a pigeonhole as to your musical tastes.

This is quite an interesting site here at TD, I suspect about 75% of the posters are Brits and Aussies (Our Ginger Haired Stepchildren fathered by Criminals).

But it is interesting if you log on (when you are not being banned) to sites like Thai Visa and many other sites that involve expats, you really don't get the laugh and banter that you get here.

Americans lack a sense of humour, Ities and Frogs never post as they cannot or will not learn English.

Germans are too busy fucking ladyboys, Poles and their ilk cannot afford the internet.

Russians have no sense of humour, cannot afford the internet, are drunk and no one wants to talk to them anyway - besides they are too busy scamming.

I think it must only be the odd Aussie, Brit, Scot, Irish that enjoys a few beers and likes a bit of a chat.

Wasn't it George Martin that liked it up the Chutney Closet?
