Wanted Man in New York City....the last place I am wanted is a place I call home

I am seriously considering moving back to the UK with my son, so that at least he can get a decent politically correct education (He is 11).

I thought if I gave him 5 years in a decent UK school he would have at least have a bit of a better chance in life than if he remained here in Buffalo School.

The funny/sad thing was the response I got from my family - They (My mother / brother) seemed aghast that I would be coming back after 12 years. There seems to be some sort of claim that my brother seems to think he has on my mothers house, he just does not want us there. (Terrified that I shack up there in case she dies and he cannot get me out!!!)

The house is worth about 350K, and my mother told me he wanted to buy my share out with 30K!!!! (As he doesn't have much cash!...from the person that was bragging how he got 24K in one months salary as a bonus...fuck me!)

I don't want the house, I don't want anything from them, never have. I am looking at rental properties near the school, I would need to rent a place and probably buy a cheap car.

I was a bit surprised at their attitude about me coming over, my mother normally whinges that she doesn't get to see her grandson enough, but by god, you would have thought I was bringing Satan to the family home when she found out my plans.

I think it might be easier for me to get a job back in the UK rather than struggling over here, and to give the boy a chance in a school that actually tries to educate the kids - 5 years is not a long time to sacrifice for a childs education.

Anyone made the move back for these reasons?

My problem is I am not exactly a spring chicken (48) and have been out of circulation for almost 12 years, all I want is to make ends meet and give the kid a chance....do able or not at my age?

It is a good reason to go back, as long as you choose where you live carefully (then you get the school that works rather than the prison classes curriculum)

Not much work around unless you are a self employed carpenter/plumber etc etc

you can always claim benefits and be the biggest hypocrite on the forum!

or join the NF/ENL and become their campaign manager
    I have reported your post

can you not just help you son here , with his education, i understand what your saying about the schooling we may need to move back to BKK, in a couple of years for my sons schooling.

Big move going back presently, look into it more, you could be making a move backwards for you son

No, I am planning to go back on my own two feet, not as a benefit scrounger. I have enough tucked away to see me OK for a few years, I also saw that Child Benefit is 20 quid a week!!!!

I am looking for work over there as there is bugger all here.

I have worked in everything from dishwashing to high tech electronics and sat. TV systems, high volume production and MOD shit with full security clearance.

The problem I have is my age, and my last few years where I have been Lam Yai farming rather than being in the industry.

The school I have picked out is a pretty good one, and we got an acceptance letter yesterday.

I was just surprised at my mother and brothers attitude, a bit of a downer after all these years.

Hear what you are saying, but the choice of schools and his future here is pretty limited to say the least.

I have transferred all of the Chanotes for land ownership into his name, so at least he has that to fall back on.

Maybe I am living in the past, but I remembered going to school when I was a kid up in the NE England, and I was lucky to have a decent school, however, I wasted my opportunities.

I just think that if I can give him the opportunity, then it is a small price to pay.

He holds both passports, so at the end of the day it is up to him where he lives, but I just would like him to have the opportunity.

I am falling out of love with Thailand, the longer I remain, the more cynical I become.

I have an aquaintance here that is an English guy, spent 60K a term sending his son to the Chiang Mai International school for over 3 years, and they couldn't even teach him to read or write Thai, it was all just about the money, it is disgusting. Education here from Western interests seems to only be concerned with money.

If you falling out of love with the place, well its possibly better for you and your son in that regard, when you said you where struggling here, i thought if you struggle here , you will defintely struggle there, though you say you are ok money wise for sometime.

wish you luck i would not go back there now, i go to do work and can not wait to come back to what i call home now.

sounds to me as you say your brothers only care is the house, remember this, you have the right to whatever your share is, if he thinks like that, sounds pretty selfish to me.

Understandable , but a year back in England will cure your jaded enthusiasm. I once spent 4 weeks in Bury when I didn't see the sun for 4 weeks. Grey every day with a misty kind of rain most of the time.

As for work, I go home to London once a year and always check things out . Exceedingly thin on the ground. A lot has changed since you left so if you do decide to go back best think about self employment.

    Good luck with it anyhow.

You might want to find out if your old mum has written a will, who the benefactors are and who is the executor.

    good for you, and him

as for your family, I am sure they will be nicer once you are there, at least to your son

agreed, the choice is a bit limited although there are some good schools

agreed, the Int schools are big business - no-one in their right mind would pay their fees unless they have a company paying for them. I have heard very mixed opinions on the school

Can you not educate your boy by yourself as an addition to his schooling? Do kids not learn at home anymore? I get the impression these day parents are to dependent on the school system for all of their education.

I learned more from my father at home than any teacher at my school in my younger years.

    You misunderstood what I meant.

My mothers home is worth about 350K, my brother (and mother) don't really want me living there. My brother wants to buy out my share of half of 350K (175K) for 30 K to keep me away.

My brother has an extremely well paid job (he got 24K in one month with share options and a bonus alone) and he feels he has the right to the entire estate, as I have moved abroad.

What they tend to forget is that all of the improvments to the home were carried out by me and my father when he was still alive, we built the double garage together, we concreted the driveways, renovated all the bedrooms (when I was about 25) While my mother sunbathed in the garden and my brother lay masturbating in his bed!

It is not the money really, it is the principal - my old man would be turning over in his grave if he hadn't been cremated!

I agree with you if you are the kind of parent that has the patience. (and skill).

I am not capable of teaching my son rules of grammar, all I could best hope to achieve is reading and writing, I still understand virtually nothing about the rules of English language, it is pointless to me as long as you can read and write and speak.

All this past perfect tense, present imperfect...it means nothing to me and to be honest...when do you ever use stuff like that?

I can help him with a lot of things, but to get any formal qualifications, I think I would be at a dead loss.

I really do not know what is the best way to go about this.

Inheritence tax only kicks in if the estate is worth over £325k, as in fok all to pay on first 325k and 40% on everything on top of that, so basically if the house was the only asset valued at 350k, then tax at 40% would only be payable on 25k, so would still be left with 340k. Tax man ain't as greedy as some think!!!! (Although personally i think inheritence tax should be scrapped)

Correct but if the husband died after a certain date then the tax threshold is rolled over to make 650k before tax

Remember one thing. Money is hard to come by but woman are a dime a dozen.

In other words, if you mother fuks you over in her Will you can contest the Will in a court of law to claim your rightful recompense.

Your brother is shitting bricks that you are coming back and will be entitled to half of your mothers estate.

He also will be pissing in your mothers ear so fuk him and get in for your chop.

Regards your son, theres no contest as far as his education goes and England is light years ahead of Thailand in that department.

I'd be fuking off back to England, lay a claim to half my mothers estate and educating my child in a civilized country.

I have no love for England but if I had a child to educate and a 175K sling coming my way I'd be on the next plane out of shitsville.

    Its a no brainer mate.

    Good luck.

Sorry, but I had to laugh at that one. I think you meant principle.

    Definition of 'Principal'
    1. The amount borrowed or the amount still owed on a loan, separate from interest.

    Cheers!

It is the 5 years chance of a decent eductation that is swinging it for me at the moment, the money from any estate is purely a matter of principal. Who the fuck would insult you with an offer of 30K on a 175K share of a house that you probably built over 20K value while the younger brother spent his days wanking and wiping shit on his bedroom walls (Yes - A registered Engineer that used to pick his arse and smear the findings on the flock wallpaper).

I'd squat in it just to fuck them all off!

If I don't get off my arse this year then it will be too late for my son and he will be condemned to the rote learning and subsevience of Thai schools!

Can you believe this one though?

They have a savings bank at the Thai school, where loads of the kids pay into every week, guess what (NO INTEREST!!!!) My lad has about 2.5K Baht saved, some of the kids have 100K!! He asked to take his OWN FUCKING MONEY out last Thursday and was refused, they told him he needed to bring a parent, fair enough I thought.

My wife went on Friday and was told they didn't have the money available - 2500 Baht!!

And she needed to come back Monday.

She went back yesterday (Monday) and was told that she couldn't get the money until the teacher/school meeting was over on the 10th!

Can you imagine that these CUNTS have all the kids money in a private bank account accruing interest and the kids get SFA!

It fucking STINKS! The sad thing is, the fucking Thais will not stand up to these bastards, they sort of "doff their caps, touch their forlocks and make an apology for disturbing these "Important People"...............I was fucking livid!

Blood needs to be shed here to tip the balance, one day maybe the ignorant will overun and overpower the overfortunate!

Ha ha! Now you see why I would make a shit teacher!

Green to you "Principle" Apologies for my terrible spelling, it actually gets so much worse over the years. (and bad spelling annoys me - However, I now seem to have forgotten where to put the apostrophes these days ...sad how old age creeps up!

I used to get like 99% in my spelling tests when I was a kid, these days I have to keep looking up words on that Miriam fucking dictionary shit....I think the brain has got a little pickled over the years.

Thanks for correcting me, I need a kick up the arse now and again. You get complacent and tend to write as you speak.
