Almost 400,000 Aussies visited Los Angeles last year.
What is the allure for Aussies to go to tinsel town?
How many Aussies visit Thailand per year does anyone know??

I'd say the recent upsurge is to do with the fact that the US is a cheap place to visit for Aussie's, these days. It would probably cost you more for a holiday in Nth Queensland, or Sydney. Going to Bali or Phuket is heaps cheaper than a beach holiday in Oz.
They want to visit Mel Gibson, Russell Crowe, et al.
Austrawood.

Pretty good reason- the faux Mexican in Oz is even more shite than actual Tex-Mex.:)Quote:
I think the Authentic Mexican food is the reason!! lol
Aussies have infiltrated all parts of American society
Even country music see Keith Urban...
The 400,000 ausies are following Mel Gibson, and nicole kidman and are all australian actors attempting to be movie stars.
LA is a good starting point for a trip around the American west; the California coast, San Francisco, the wine country, Yosemite, Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon. Then there is always Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Universal City, Disneyland and the beaches close in to LA. Great destination.
Is Olivia Newton John still in circulation?

Olivia Newton-John - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia :UK:
seems family emigrated to Melbourne Oz when she was 6.
tex mex ughhh I never eat Tex Mex, California Mexican and Texas Mexican food can be a world apart... Errol Flynn great actor, Hollywood changed allot of peoples names and back grounds to make them seem more appealing..
Id say if you really are visiting LA you might be able to squeeze in a trip to LV probably not SF unless you fly up and back in a day..
Yosemite would be a stretch on a vacation to LA, also being that many times you need reservations to stay there now.
My friend teaches at the High School where Grease was filmed in the silver lake part of LA I believe...
lol @ Mel Gibson the guy drank some bad roo piss or something he is nucking futs!!
I have a friend who went to the States as there was no work for him in Aussie.
'cos a burrito in Melbourne costs $30.Quote:

From what ive heard from people who have been to both places Cali and OZ
LA > Sydney
SF > Melbourne
San Diego > Perth
Yosemite > Alice Springs
Malibu > Bondi
Anywhere is cheaper than Australia at the moment. Its seriously fuked up dudes but its great if you got a fist full of dollars and a rock solid bank account.
Is it because everything has to be shipped in? I know OZ is pretty far from many vegetable growing countries and land locked to no other country..
I realize how lucky I am in this part of the U.S. I bought a head of lettuce for 33 cents, and a gallon of milk for around $1.50 where in other parts of the U.S. it can go for over $4
Aussies prefer A ?,.......oh LA
Must get me eyes tested.
Prolly right first time though:)
