Has anyone ever had a gum shield made?

Anyone ever had a custom gumshield made? I presume one would go to have it done by a dentist?

    Any idea of cost?

Never had one made in Thailand but I had one made by the dentist in the uk. Can't remember how much it cost. Probably not much.

Well, to get a tooth implant with all the trimmings at a hospital such as Bumrungrad, it costs ~ 120K baht.

I think he means a contact sports gumshield.

When I was a kid playing American football you just would goto the local sporting goods store and buy one. When you got home you throw it in a pot of boiling water and then put it in your mouth and bite down. Instant custom mold. I am sure that it is still done that way.

If it's for sports, getting one custom-made really isn't necessary- the ones made by Shock Doctor are great and you can fit them yourself- I've used a few different ones, and I've found the 'Gel Nano' to be the best (and Amazon will ship it to Thailand cheaply).

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Same with the one I bought from Robinsons. Only wore it once, as I hated it.

Are you thinking of making the slappers wear them before giving you oral sex?

The upper-and-lower ones aren't a great choice for a sport where you'll get really out-of-breath (boxing/MMA/Muay Thai, i.e.- you'll rarely see a guy wearing anything but an upper in the ring) as the space between the sections is fairly small and it's tough to get enough air through it when you're exhausted and really sucking wind.

I used to use this one (made by Brain Pad, another good manufacturer) and you can see the opening between the upper and lower sections is fairly small (all the ones of this type are about the same)- I gave up on it as I just couldn't get the air I needed when I was spent:

The quickest way to receiving a broken jaw which offers little or no protection.

A properly fitted oral mouth guard will protect your teeth and support your jaw when playing contact sports.
