Seen a lot of posts on here from people who don’t believe in God.
The posters are quite firm in their convictions. “There is no God”
…….but what about the other guy, old Nick,,…..Lucifer.
Do you believe in him?

Obviously the atheists will say fcuk off and don’t talk shite,
but be careful,……….Talk of the Devil and he’s sure to appear.

God may be dead, but is Satan still doing his thing, still havin a laugh?

Think about it. The story goes he was thrown out of heaven for being
a flash cnut. a wise guy, a bit independent, mind of his own.
Just like us atheist types.

The Big Man will forgive us our gravest sins, but will toss out Lucifer
for a bit of lip. Did he deserve that?
Do you deserve to be chucked out of anywhere for speaking your mind?

There is a theory that says that all things exist until we stop believing
in them, which would account for the Big Man’s demise.
Think about that for a bit. No don’t bother, that’s another thing altogether.

……..but we still always believe that when we do something wrong,
drunk or sober, that some other force is to blame.
It was not really me that done that, it wasn’t my true nature, really,
it was,…… it was, (and then a wee dark, unspoken voice says),
“the Devil made me do that”.

It usually isn’t that bad………..you cheated on the wife, you cheated on
your expenses at work, blah blah blah, but we always blame something else.

Maybe that’s what keeps him real and that’s why he out lived the Big Fella.

Well, if he was chucked out for the above reasons, then he’s probably a dude.
So he is probably is not responsible for all the carnage and disasters and fuck
ups which occur every day. No dear readers, that’s all your fault.

I mean, Lucifer is a fun guy, so where’s the fun in seeing people suffer and
possessing people etc. Sounds like a lot of hard work to me,………
why bother?

So the next time you hear that little voice telling you to just do it,
fcuk it, never mind,…………. it’ll be alright………. have a little faith.

You never know……………………………

The devil is a metaphor for the weakness of the human will to do the right thing.

When he is taken literally it only adds confusion to already complex questions of morality.

Do I get off the hook for something by claiming I was tempted by the devil? What if 2 people do the same bad deed but only one remembers being tempted by the devil? Does that make the second person more evil for going ahead without temptation? So true evil then emanates from the human spirit's free will? then what is the devil all about?

Why are you defining yourself as an atheist - someone who doesn't believe in a god.

It's religions trap. You define yourself in terms of religion, thereby giving credence to religion.

Would you go about defining yourself to the world in terms of fairies, the Jowtie or the flying spaghetti monster. What would you call yourself in terms of these beliefs? How is a god different?

So-called atheists are fighting a losing battle as long as they do this. They are simply religion's whores.

In the current climate of debate the statement that you are wanting to make, if you give yourself any sort of label at all, is that you don't believe in God.

The discussion in question is in relation to the existence or otherwise of God so Atheist is a pretty logical term.

You want a name for Atheists that allows you to define yourself without religious terms of reference?

Maybe just disregard the debate and call yourself a human being.

Ultimately religion will wither to a husk and referring to yourself as an Atheist will sound quaint and funny but religion is still very much at large and until its expiry Atheist seems like a reasonable tag.

According to the Bible, the God of this world is the Devil (Cor. 4:4). Accordingly religious folk may be unwitting Satanists, which should bother them a bit. They are most certainly being deceived.

If you look at modern translations of the Bible (such as those pushy Evangelist's tend to use), the reference to the Devil in Corinthians is conveniently expunged- which rather adds currency to the above theorem.

Inteligent people generaly refer to themselves as agnostic.

Seems that far more energy is spent defending the existence of a God than that of the non-existence theory.

I am not gonna worry about who is "God" until I die and meet whoever this cat is. Then we are gonna exchange a few words about all the nasty sh*t that has happened to me that wasn't self inflicted.

He or it is gonna be busy for awhile, thats for sure...

Even to this day.....most of our cultures retain a deep matriarchal connection, apart from the surfaced and false patriarch control.
