Many years ago I worked in an electronics shop, and a fat woman pulled that same stunt with a VCR- if the security tag hadn't sounded an alarm near the exit, she would have gotten away with it.

She just stood there and tried to talk her way out of it- the security guard (an off-duty cop) wasn't having any of it and called a female police officer to search here- busted.
