There is no such thing as an indigenous language- there are many, and not mutually intelligible. If we, for convenience, adopted the lingo of an east coast tribe clustered around the Sydney area you can be sure the other aboriginal 'nations' would be up in arms about it. Over to you, but I'll stick with abo. After all, that is what they usually term themselves- either that or 'our mob'.

I believe Aboriginal is acceptable and First Nations people preferred.
