Shredded cheese is not good for you because it is coated with all short of things so that it will not stick to each other and forms clumps.

Well it is about cheese, certainly a subject that incites Passion in man and rodents
though nothing like if this was a thread about hard boiled eggs.

Upset a few people, but to be honest the new name, Cheer? A bit naff, surely they could have done better.

[A] man wrote on Facebook. “There’s still many people out there with the last name Coon, should they be forced/asked to change their name?"

Coon, which will become Cheer in July, is the latest in a series of brands that have been renamed due to them being called out as racist.
Allen’s Red Skins and Chicos lollies will become Red Ripper and Cheekies respectively this year.
Owner Nestle said the names were “out of step with the company’s values”.

mmm oh my, where will it end?

Once again Ant demonstrates his idiocy. I have a lazy keyboard and occasionally miss a letter.

Furthermore, it is Panama Hat, KW, AO and Ant who all spell words wrongly....words which I knew how to spell in grade 5. But it's not just misspelling....they are words which have completely different meanings.

It may seem petty for me to point it out....one does wonder if they ever read books. And wonder at their general level of education...

Seems appropriate to start using the slang term coon again, now that it will no longer be confused with a cheap white cheese.

and to think it ain't got fek all to do with colour.

Coon cheese is named after the American Edward William Coon (1871–1934) of Philadelphia, who patented a method subsequently known as the Cooning process, for fast maturation of cheese via high temperature and humidity.

Mr Hagan, who has co-written a book about the fromage fisticuffs called Coon: More Holes than Swiss cheese, said he was “relieved” the brand was to be banished.
“I‘m happy with the name change; the new name doesn’t worry me but I wish they’d changed the packaging too.
“If you look at the packaging quickly, you’d think it was still Coon cheese.”
He said he was disappointed Saputo and its predecessors had justified the name’s continuation because of the link to the original Mr Coon. But that link, he said, was tenuous at best.
“I’ve never had a problem with someone by the name Mr Coon; the problem has always been this myth that Coon cheese is from Edward William Coon.”
There’s no doubt a cheese maker called Mr Coon existed. The American was granted a patent in the US in 1926 for his method of rapidly ripening cheese using humidity and high temperatures.
It became known as the “cooning” method.
However, the Australian cheese was named only “in recognition” of Mr Coon, rather than the product being directly descended from the man himself or his company. Indeed, Saputo has removed the page from the Coon website relating to the brand’s history.
According to Mr Hagan, Coon cheese had such a weak link to Mr Coon it wasn’t even made using the cooning method.
This would have led to the cheese having large amounts of visible mould on the surface and a sharp taste, whereas Coon is uniformly yellow with a mild flavour.

I actually remember a time when abos were called coons more often than they were called abos. That nickname seemed to fade when boong became en vogue, but then that faded with increasing PC and it was back to abo (for most of us, including abos), or whatever tortured terminology the Woke subsequently puked up. Good old aussie slang.

    This just in-

Aboriginal activist files a formal complaint against Scrabble for allowing racist slurs as playable words in the popular board game

    • Aboriginal activist is calling for Scrabble to remove racist terms from the game
    • Darwin man Dr Stephen Hagan complained to the human rights commission
    • He previously campaigned against Coon Cheese, which changed its name

An Aboriginal activist has formally complained to the Australian human rights body about racist slurs allowed in Scrabble games.
Dr Stephen Hagan, from Darwin, has filed the complaint against Mattel Inc, asking them to remove 'abo', 'coon' and 'boong' from Scrabble's dictionary of playable words.
'Scrabble needs to fall in line with the 21st Century. They no longer cater just for a white Australia,' Dr Hagan told Daily Mail Australia.

Perhaps we should breathe a sigh of relief that white comes after brown and black in the alphabet. Oh dear, but before yellow.
