    Pacquiao V Marquez 3

Juan Manuel Marquez is scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38 KOs) in a 144 lb catchweight fight on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Pacquiao vs Marquez III will be contested for Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title.
Márquez will earn $5 Million and there will be a rematch clause that will pay Márquez $10 million for Pacquiao vs Márquez IV should he beat Pacquiao.
The Mexican first met Pacquiao in 2004 in a fight that ended in a controversial draw. They fought again 4 years later, when Pacquiao eked out a split decision to take away Marquez’s WBC super featherweight title.
Marquez, the reigning WBO and World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight champion, is seen by many fight experts as the next best opponent for Pacquiao in the absence of pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Manny Pacquiao has turned up the heat on Juan Manuel Marquez by insisting his opponent’s “nice-guy” persona is merely an act designed to save him from extra punishment.
The promotional tour for Saturday’s showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the third part of a trilogy between the two men, has been notable for its lack of hostility, with both boxers maintaining a dignified level of respect when discussing each other.
However, Pacquiao now believes there is an ulterior motive behind Marquez’s actions and comments and insisted the tenacious Mexican is trying to catch him off guard.

Vessel still stuck at Sarangani reef carries 66K tons of coal
    By Bong S. Sarmiento | Tuesday| May 10, 2011 | Filed under: Top Stories

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (MindaNews/9 May) – The Sarangani provincial government has allayed fears of an oil spill in the seas off Kiamba town following a maritime accident involving a foreign cargo ship, not a fuel tanker as earlier reported, that rammed on a reef on Sunday.
Sarangani Gov. Miguel Rene Dominguez said the cargo ship loaded with 65,900 metric tons of coal was still stuck at Bakud Reef as of noontime Monday.
“Initial investigation by the Coast Guard detachment in Kiamba revealed that human error caused the grounding [of the ship],” he told MindaNews.
The vessel, Dominguez said, sustained no major damage, adding there’s also no spillage of oil or the coal stocks to the sea.
Initial report from the Coast Guard station here on Sunday said the ship that rammed the reef at around 12 p.m. was a tanker vessel.
Dominguez said that M/V Double Prosperity, which was en route to India from Australia, was a Panama-registered cargo ship.
The governor could not say when the stranded vessel could be taken out from the reef, stressing the Philippine Coast Guard will make the call after making a thorough evaluation.
The logistical requirement is also being taken into account to secure the vessel and minimize the damage it may cause to the environment, Dominguez said.
John Heitz, an American expatriate who rushed to the reef Sunday after learning of the incident, also said the vessel was still stuck there as of press time Monday.
“They will have a hard time removing [the vessel] from the reef. [It] will need a tug [boat] and [a] high tide,” Heitz, a scuba diving enthusiast, said late Sunday afternoon.
Heitz, who came to the vessel on a pump boat, said that three-fourths of the boat got stuck on the reef, although the propeller was not jammed, adding that he also saw a small hole in the hull on the front left side of the vessel.
Bakud Reef, which locals also referred to as Tambilil, is about 7 kilometers from the shore. Divers describe Bakud Reef as the “only good reef” left in the area.
This was not the first time that a ship ran aground at Bakud Reef, according to sources, who said that an earlier incident was left unreported.
Heitz said that a portion of Bakud Reef is shallow, where a man can stand up and his head would still be above the sea surface. (Bong S. Sarmiento / MindaNews)

MV Double Prosperity Aground, Damaging Reef in Philippine’s Sarangani Bay Marine Sanctuary

Posted on May 12, 2011 by Rick Spilman
The perhaps poorly named MV Double Prosperity, loaded with 65,000 tons of coal, grounded on Bakud Reef on Sunday in Sarangani Bay in the Philippines.
    Stranded ship threatens Philippine reef

A foreign cargo ship is stranded on a protected coral reef in the southern Philippines and may be stuck for three weeks, raising fears of environmental damage, authorities said on Thursday.
The Panamanian-registered MV Double Prosperity was carrying about 65,000 tonnes of coal from Australia to India when it hit Bakud Reef on Sunday, regional coast guard commander Roy Echeverria told AFP.
    About three-quarters of the 225-metre-long

The pinoy crew went near coast to be able watch this on their on board TV...

The Ship still stuck out there...

Pacman is a totally different fighter from the last Marquez encounter.

Freddy Roach has turned him into the world's best p4p boxer since that time, and I think that Pacman has a point to prove regarding the disputed decisions of the last 2 fights.
Marquez is a great fighter, but I expect a motivated / angry Pacman to get to him early and put him away inside 6 rounds. Gonna be a good fight though.

Marquez has never been knocked out yet, took Mayweather the distance.

My guess is Pacman, by way of unanimous decision

Marquez is moving up in weight a bit too much, imo. From super fly to lightweight is one thing, but welter is probably a step too far, especially against Pacman.

Mayweather might agree to fight if Pacquiao shows up in drag and he thinks he gets to hit a girl.

One thing is for certain, it will be a quiet Sunday morning here - no cars on the road, no crime, no barking dogs - the entire place will be watching. It's almost like a Twilight Zone episode.

There's been some interesting stuff on the box about the history of this.

Up to now it looks like Marquez has had the rough end of the decisions, boxing being boxing.

Maybe his time has come, one punch away.

I've no time for boxing, think its shocking, but I keep an eye on the contraversial stuff

Mayweather is running scared from Pacquiao, he keeps making every excuse known to man (or in his case, fucking poofter).

I reckon they will get it on someday, when Mayweather is past his best, the money that would be put up is too big for either to turn down.

It will be a shit fight anyway, Mayweather dancing backwards round the ring

The TAB has Marquez at NZ$6.50 and Pacquiao at NZ$1.09. If the fight goes the distance they have Pacquiao at NZ$2.45 and Marquez at NZ$10.00. I put a fiver on Marquez getting a decision. Probably threw away the five, but what the hell.
    pues, estamos aqui

Fight is about to start in the Philippines. Maybe another ten minutes or so before they start the pre-fight BS, which will go on forever. As predicted, streets here are empty. No ongoing construction, army and rebels have laid down their guns, churches are empty, no traffic at all. Let the games begin!
