It wasn't the last ball of Starc's over mate.
Root's dismissal was stupid as he didn't have to play at the ball.
Anyway I did expect a strong response from the Poms which hasn't happened again.
And it is an Aussie second string bowling attack.
^ ^^ Thanks and seems you're both correct.
Last ball of the session, but not the last ball of the over.
I assume Starc will continue that over today.
It's actually quite deflating . . . not even a contest, zero fun in that.
^Jeez that's a bit harsh. I couldn't agree more but it's still harsh
True, but it's over far too quickly . . . they need to be toyed with first. this is just . . . too easy and no fun.
Anyway, the soap-dodgers only need another 380-odd runs . . .
IIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGEEEERRRRRRLLLLLAAAAAANNNNNND DDDDDDD!!!!!!
I somewhat disagree.
Having lived in GB, I do have a soft spot there and I love the English accent (on Lassies).
The Barmy Army is brilliant ... the Soccer hooligans, less so.
So I wish the English to lose, with dignity ... call it losing with a Stiff Upper Lip
That said, in State of Origin ... crush them Sky Blues ... they are all bastards and QLD wannabees!
But I digress in codes and geography!
^ ps ... also English Rugby ... fuck them and fuck Jonny Wilkinson.
Fucking stupid field goals ... score a try to win the game.
Still hurts, decades later.
1, 2, 3 ...
^As they generally do when someone gets hit in the Jatz crackers, they rolled out the old footage of Thommo doing the same thing to Bumble with a ball travelling close to 160kph. Now that would have hurt.
I used to love watching Tommo bowl, mainly because his action was so different.
Tried to emulate his style ... with some, but limited success.
Fast, but inaccurate sometimes. Length, not line was the issue.
^Yes I saw him and Lillee bowl one day at the Gabba while laying on the dog track, which you referenced earlier and I'm sure not many understood. The short story behind that is we played competition cricket as kids on Saturdays and the opposing team for the day never turned up so our coach (and Dad of one of our team members of course) loaded the 11 of us into his Valiant station wagon and off to the Gabba we went for the day where it was free admission to kids dressed in their whites, but we had to stay on the dog track . Australia were playing England and the Thommo/Lillee combo was running riot with lightning fast deliveries, we were side-on to the action and Marsh + 5 slips and a gully were standing what must have been 20 yards behind the stumps. A day to remember.
Nope, and to have the pair of them in the same team during their peaks was just ridiculous. They didn't have the ball-speed technology of today back then of course but there's plenty of footage on YouTube of both of them bowling when they were angry. You can easily see how fast the ball gets to the keeper compared to what happens when balls are bowled by today's quicks, which are clocked at around 145kph. Lillee and Thommo were much faster than that.
I don't get it ... the Bookies are offering $1.16 for the Aussie win?
... now into $1.03!
Looking tough for England to win this one now. Jos is going to have to get moving...
