Going for a cup of tea, hoping for a lightening to strike twice.

Stumps never a dull day in an Ashes series, Aussies draw first blood looking for a strong come back from the bowlers on day 2.

The worry was that our best batsman got slaughtered in the first over, and our best bowler got slaughtered in the last!

What a fuking awful day... But, this was always gonna be the Aussies best chance for a good win; strong management on their part to kick off with the Brisbane test.

I did not see a ball being bowled due to being at work but know that this is going to be a long hard ashes series and a days play will mean nothing until we can see the game position at lunch tomorrow.

    Yep.

If Strauss had got a 100, and the Aussies struggled then the series would be well on its way... but, the opposite has happened.

Not quite true mate. this first session is crucial to setting the tone.

So far 0/42 - a sunny day, the pitch is getting harder, this is the chance for the Aussies to build an innings, or had the ball been moving and the skies a bit overcast a chance for England to retaliate after yesterday's flogging.

    Aussies looking to settle.

England's balls are not doing much at all.
