The Moto 2 race was interesting who jumped the start who didn't.
As for Cal in the MOTO GP race, well his bike got lost.

While the first race of MotoGP's new single ECU era went smoothly for most riders, Cal Crutchlow's LCR Honda suffered the dreaded 'lost on track' scenario, eventually causing him to fall.

The unified software still allows MotoGP machines to alter engine performance to suit each corner of the race track.

The trouble is, if the bike gets 'lost' by miscalculating its location - GPS is banned, so distance is measured by counting wheel rotations from the start of each timing sector - the rider is left fighting against the wrong settings.

“I'm really angry, because I had such good pace in the race. We had a technical problem, that's why I crashed. After lap one, the bike didn't know where it was on the circuit,” said Crutchlow.

“I had no speed in the straight, the traction control was coming on in second, third, fourth, fifth gear, and then the rest of the lap I would have traction control or I wouldn't, I'd have anti-wheelie or I wouldn't, I'd have engine brake or I wouldn't. Basically, the bike was in the first sector and it thought it was in the fourth sector

MotoGP Argentina: Michelin withdraws BOTH rear tyres

Michelin has withdrawn BOTH of its planned rear tyre compounds ahead of Sunday's MotoGP race in Argentina.

The decision has been made on safety grounds following a scary incident for Scott Redding during final MotoGP practice in Argentina.
A new medium rear, with a stiffer construction, will now be introduced on Sunday.

Lots of rumors regarding Ducati and Lorenzo not so good for Ducati yesterday both riders going to get a bollocking over this incident.

"Both me and Dovizioso would have been on the podium so to finish the race in this way is unbelievable" - Andrea Iannone.

Iannone should get a proper whack up side the head. All his fault. Hurt Dovizioso's championship and Ducati constructor standing. Get rid of him asap. He's a team liability.

Rossi can thank his good friend Iannone for the podium gift. Lorenzo as usual chokes in the wet. Marcus simply out classed all. On to Texas where Marcus will win again.

Marquez showed he the master of the Texas circuit,4 in a row.
A lot went down due to tyre choice seems to me.
Rossi was lucky to walk away from his big off.

Dovi seems to have a target painted on him somewhere.

“Dani is not a kamikaze, trying to overtake you every time on the brakes”– Andrea Dovizioso.

When Andrea Dovizioso was wiped out of second - by his own team-mate - within sight of the finish in Argentina, he probably thought he'd endured his bad luck for the season.

But just a week later, the Ducati star was again punted out of a rostrum place by another rider.
MotoGP News - MotoGP Americas: Dovizioso: 'Dani is not a kamikaze'

And two Brits crashed one after the other.

MotoGP: Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis ‘would be surprised’ if Jorge Lorenzo stays for 2017

JORGE Lorenzo is poised to make the biggest team switch in recent MotoGP history with reports suggesting he is set to leave Yamaha for Ducati.
The sport’s reigning world champion has been the focus of MotoGP’s transfer market chatter since teammate and rival Valentino Rossi announced a new two-year deal with Yamaha to race in blue until the end of 2018.
The managing director of Yamaha’s factory MotoGP team, Lin Jarvis, confirmed they presented both Rossi and Lorenzo with a new contract at the same time

Why MotoGP is going backwards - MotoGP - Motor Sport Magazine
    Why MotoGP is going backwards

There’s very little all the factories agree on, but engine rotation is one of them
After sunshine, rain and fresh air, my favourite natural phenomenon is gyroscopic effect. This is because we wouldn’t be able to ride motorcycles without it. If you don’t believe me, try this next time you’re out riding: when you stop at a traffic light, don’t put your feet down. (And don’t send me the bill.)
A motorcycle’s spinning wheels create gyroscopic effect that keeps the machine going straight. The more speed, the more gyro and the more stability. This is all good, unless you are racing. Most racers don’t give a hoot about straight-line stability: they’re happy to hold on like gorillas on the straights, just so long as the bike will turn left or right in the blink of an eye.
And this is why all premier-class Grand Prix manufacturers – possibly for the first time in history – now run their engines backwards. It may also explain why Marc Márquez’s COTA and Argentina victories were so huge – bigger than any dry-track wins from last year.

Rossi's secret - MotoGP - Motor Sport Magazine

Valentino Rossi’s 113th Grand Prix victory was historic and much more. It was the success that brought him to within ten wins of Giacomo Agostini’s record of 122 victories, which for many decades was presumed forever impregnable. Hard to believe, but his 87th premier-class win was also the first time in 17 seasons in the big class that Rossi had led from pole position and from start to finish. Rossi won his first Grand Prix in August 1996, three months after his first decent GP result, a fourth-place finish, just metres shy of the podium, at Jerez, funnily enough. After that race sidekick Uccio Salucci said, “that’s when I thought, hmm, maybe it’s possible that something good comes out of this, not just one victory or one podium, maybe something more…”
