International “Sporting Events” such as the Olympics, Tour de France, Wimbledon Tennis Championship, and Championship Title Boxing Matches, bring out the “National Pride” of many who have their own country colleagues participating in those event. The “WORLD CUP” Football Championships are no different. In 2002, I was fortunate enough to have been working in the Republic of Korea during the “WORLD CUP” series and found the “red shirt” (no relationship to red shirts of Thailand) pride of the South Korean populace to be everywhere. The non football fans as well as the football enthusiast, adults as well as children, females as well as males, shop owners and shoppers, and even pets of the Korean owners. I spent a day in the Itewon, Dong Bu Ichon Dong, and Myong Dong areas capturing this “national red shirt pride” of the South Korean populace. I share those captured images with you in this thread.
The immediate below picture is the advert poster for the “WORLD CUP” that was posted on the sides of busses as in the pictures as well as on bus stop benches, store front windows, billboards, and so many other places.
The following pictures capture that "national pride" of the Koreans that I mentioned above.
