    Top 2 go through automatically?

Or as the top groups only have 5 teams is there some sort of playoff bollox?

    play off bollox.

The nine winners and the runner-up with the best record against the top five sides in their pool qualify directly for the final tournament, the last before the championship is expanded to 24 teams. The eight remaining runners-up go into play-off matches in November 2011 to decide the final four sides to join co-hosts Poland and Ukraine
Until a few of the big earners are struggling and then I'm sure it will all be changed to accommodate those with money pulling power, as happened with the world cup.

England should piss it. The Republic have got a decent chance but the rest of the home nations will be staying home again.

Pool E looks good. With only one automatic place, you'd imagine there'll be a bit of a battle between these four.

Group E: Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Hungary,
