In traditional rugby a narrow loss against such a great opponent would have resulted in compliments, friendship and a few beers all round.

In the modern era of NZ rugby fans it results in ridicule and derision how anyone could even dare to set foot on the park with the All Blacks and a diatribe about how their culture (read haka) was abused yet again.....

I preferred rugby as it was................. Black is the new football hooligan........ throwing bottles at the French FFS just because you lost..... Awful!!!

That's why living in Bangkok was such a pleasure. The number of arrogant Kiwis who left France early and stopped over in Bangkok for a few days during the last world cup was incredible. Bloody good fun baiting them too. Terrible losers; nearly as bad as the Aussies the time before.

Lets remind ourselves of the kind of respect NZ rugby 'supporters' give to their opponents when a well deserved victory is achieved on hallowed NZ turf.

I guess the uppity French should just roll over and let the precious ones walk all over them.

Really a rather sad day for rugby.

I'm still gob smacked after the Jock loss and they (the aussies) were fooking terrible.

I'll feel better when they beat the Taffies though!

Huge game coming up tomorrow, SA vs Ireland, SH champs vs NH champs. The NH press have really been talking it up, dragging out the usual sterotypes of 'dirty boks' etc and talking up the home sides chances while the Irish are targeting this match as payback for the Lions series loss.

I was initially worried, but it has been freakish how injuries on this tour have forced the coaches to select the best players. After our 2nd string front rows were decimated by the English club sides, they finally overturned the no overseas player ban and selected BJ Botha & CJ vd Linde. Then an injury to Bismark saw Smit moving back to hooker in the final 20 mins against Italy, the scrum with Beast, Smit & BJ then promptly destroyed the Italian scrum.

Further injuries in the forwards saw the drafting of loose forwards Deysel (Sharks) and Potgieter (Bulls), both of whom will be on the bench tomorrow meaning that for once we will actually be STRENGTHENED when we bring on the subs.

The back line is pretty settled, although there was an injury scare for Fourie Du Preez. However the big change (again injury forced) is Jacobs dopping out at 12 (twisted ankle) to be replaced by Oliver. Jean De Villiers, another overseas player is drafted onto the bench. There were serious concerns about Jacob's defence but with WO and JdV, that is no longer an issue.

Thus the team selected is a solid one and it should be a cracker. Full SA team:

Springbok team: Zane Kirchner, JP Pietersen, Jaque Fourie, Wynand Olivier, Bryan Habana, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez, Danie Rossouw, Schalk Burger, Heinrich Brussow, Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha, BJ Botha, John Smit (captain), Tendai Mtawarira.

Reserves: Bismarck du Plessis, CJ van der Linde, Andries Bekker, Jean Deysel, Dewald Potgieter, Ruan Pienaar, Jean de Villiers.

With a pack of forwards like the Wally's have now how can any backline function? Losing line-outs, cant ruck and maul and no clean quick ball to the backs is a recipe for what we saw last weekend.

About the only improvement I have seen recently is the scrumaging!

If you have any idea I am sure Robbie Deans would be interested!

Two upsets tonight with Ireland beating South Africa and Australia beating Wales.

I didn't see the Ireland win but I was very impressed with the Aussie 80 minute effort, 4 try to nil victory > 33 to 12.

Looks like a good bunch of young players coming through but lets wait and see before getting too excited.

The All Blacks saved their best for last on this long northern tour, putting on a masterclass in Marseille today as they carved up the French in as expressive a display of rugby as they've produced all year.
Running in five quite magnificent tries, and outplaying the French team all over the park, Graham Henry's New Zealanders - playing beautiful rugby in an ugly combination of black shorts and white jerseys - won 39-12 with a display that was possibly even more commanding than the score indicated.

So, waddya say now? It seems the Aussie forwards were critical in the victory though. They've definitely lifted, from abysmal to pretty solid.
I'm itching to download the game, but it's not on my aussie torrent site yet. Blacks & France too- seems like a beauty.

The Springboks only won one of their five NH matches- but were the deserving tri-nations victors. The Wallabies and Blacks finished on a high note. Good for next years comp, although the Wallabies remain wildcards with their sheer inconsistency.

I'm watching the game again now and I cannot believe this performance and when compared to the Scotland game and even against the Irish, another game they threw away.

^Worth watching Ant.Both teams ran the ball, but the AB's were just too good for the froggies.
