Probably due to the fact the the rest of the Liverpool team were pretty good, but the Scottish team were crap.
We are now but we were decent in the eighties. We had players like Hansen,Souness,Strachan,Andy Gray,Charlie Nicholas,Graham Sharp all playing for the top clubs in England.
What decent team was that? A team that couldn't make even the 2nd round of a world cup? Names mentioned were all very decent except Sharp who was half decent at best, but a team it didn't make.

Dalgliesh was wonderful. Loved the unbridled joy and ear to ear smile he wore when he scored, no modern day bullshitty gimmicks. But he succeeded in a superb Liverpool team that ruled Europe. In a Scotland shirt it wasn't so easy.
Your correct. No matter how talented our squad was we have never made the second round of the world cup. We couldnt even make the second round in Germany 74 when we had the likes of Dennis Law,Dalgleish,Lorimer,Bremner,Jordan,Holton,Buchan once again all playing for top English clubs. Its a strange situation that ive never been able to explain.

Yes I watched the match in Thailand when on holiday. Gazzas goal came just after a penalty for Scotland (missed, yuk yuk) and the Thai television wankers went to a commercial break - after the adverts the ball was in the net. Luckliy they dont do ad breaks in the middle of games any more.

I'm mates with Andy Goram, he comes to Thailand sometimes. Have talked to him about this goal before and he told me quite a funny story about what happened back at Rangers when they got back after the summer.

The last time Andy Goram was in Thailand he did a runner from his Bangkok hotel without settling the bill.

I remember a sorry in the Scottish press that Gorams wife found out he was cheating when she found footprints on the car inside roof.

"There's only two Andy Goram's, two Andy Goram's".

One of the funniest songs i've heard of being sang at a football match.
