Be aware the times in the list I added seem to be wrong, The ASRFU web site says that the game kicks off at 5pm SA time which will be 10pm Thai time. The BBC web site seems to confirm this though the Tri Nations website still says it is 3pm SA time.
They may have the more successful teams but they can't organise a piss up in a brewery.

I think the best team in this years Tri nations are the Wallabies.
They won't win however, unless they get their act together in two key areas.
Firstly, composure. They just don't seem to have the belief or the professionalism yet. That was the main reason they did not comfortably win at Eden Park- it should have been sealed in the first half. Secondly, the Dark Arts. They lost a lot of ball in the Mauls, and the boks are the best in the world here. If they can't sort that out they've got a hard job winning. But at least Oz has a slightly substandard forward line now, as opposed to Woeful.
The boks are deserved favourites- they should have won by more, but a rare bad day with the boot.

As always in 3N competitions it's gonna be the team that's able to win away from home that will take this one.
There's no doubt in my mind that the best team at the moment are South Africa.
They have quality top to bottom and pretty good depth too, and lets remember there is pressure to not actually pick their best team, a classic example being the current reserve hooker. how Schalk Britz is not involved is indicative of the situation. Radabelle is not up to the job he has been given.
South Africa are currently playing without their first choice full back, openside and you could say fly half, though I suspect his days in intenational rugby are over. There is not a position in the team where you could say they don't have a true international class player, that cannot be said of the others.

The team that played yesterday was probably, on paper, the best that we can put on the field at the moment and they put in a pretty comprehensive performance, although they did go off the boil for about 15 mins in the 2nd half (still waiting for a complete 80 min performance). Without a doubt the second best hooker is your first choice tight head, but he is no exactly that, SA have an embarrasment of riches at hooker unlike most other countries where getting one that can do 3 things well is a problem. I'm suprised to hear of the decline of Brits, he was superb in the games I saw last season, and good enough in the one I saw him play this year. He'll get more money at sarries anyway, they are having another South African revolution. It is undisputed I think though, that Rapalele is crap.
I'd prefer Steyn at 15, but the coach certainly has shown his preference for Jantjies. I'd pick steyn at 10, though I was referring (and fishing) to Butch james at 10, the armless wonder (in defence). Brussow for Schalk is an interesting one, Brussow really has played well, of that there is no doubt, but i'm a believer in the 'Class is Permanent' philosophy. That said, feel free to pick Brussow and let Schalk come play for Wales, which is something he did consider in his youth. When the Nugget retires we will have big problems at 7, unless Sam Warburton comes through (as we hope he will).

You are right about Schalk Burger though, he plays with an intensisty that reminds me of the great jean pierre rives who just threw himself into everything. I often wonder if it is reality or just the hair that makes them so noticeable.
Like I said, package him up and send him to Wales, he's qualified to play for us he'd look good in red.
Read from a few Saffas that he's not their preffered choice. He looked good to me in the two Lions games I saw. But his defensive game might not be up to scratch. Case in point cited is the only try scored by the ABs last week by Smith where it was Steyn that fell off the tackle. I think he'll be tested again this week.
