How many tower blocks could they build on Manchesters football ground? Also I believe there is quite a shortage of housing in Manchester so it may not be a bad idea sort of humanitarian type thing

Yeah, they need to have someone like Peter Ridsdale at the club, because he would never run a club into the ground and leave it with massive debts

Was at a birthday bash last night with a citeh boy of 50 plus years - last year, despite knowing too well what Thaksin was, he was a whooping and a hollering over the good times that were coming his club's way. Well last night, not a freakin' word from him but plenty from fellow revellers representing about 10 premier league clubs. Oh, how we laughed, and laughed.

I'm glad the club have responded to this...

Manchester City slam allegations regarding the Chairman
    16/05/2008 11:55

The Club have taken the unusual step today to issue a statement regarding reports in some of this morning’s national newspapers.
The stories suggested that our Chairman, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, has put the entire first team squad up for sale and has written a critical letter to all the players regarding their performances this season.

Dr Thaksin exclusively told mcfc.co.uk “There is absolutely no truth to this story or any of the allegations. I appreciate the progress and performance of the whole squad, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, this season.”

Dr Thaksin also confirmed that other claims in the story of Deputy Chairman John Wardle apologising to players for selling the club were also without any foundation.

Last night Dr Thaksin dined with Sven together with the City players and staff at sponsor Singha Beer’s dinner to promote the game with the Thai All Star team in Bangkok on Saturday

Manchester City spokesman Paul Tyrrell said, “We are currently taking legal advice regarding these news reports and will pursue those who continue to run or repeat this false story and its allegations without the Chairman’s rebuttal.”

Anything he says from now is going through these guys.

MANCHESTER City's controversial owner, the former Thai prime minister, Thaksin Shinawatra, has appointed a public relations agency amid the row over his reported plan to sack Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Shinawatra, who is in Thailand, where he is due to meet Eriksson and the City team during their post-season tour, has hired Bell Pottinger North to 'help build and manage his reputation'.

The Bell Pottinger Group was involved in the PR campaign last summer when Shinawatra bought the club for £80m, but its involvement ended in December and the chairman's PR was handled by the in-house press office at Manchester City.

The Macclesfield-based public relations consultancy has now been brought back in, on a short-term contract, to support him with media relations.

Bell Pottinger North director John Butters is leading the campaign, working closely with the chairman's chief advisers.
    This is their latest effort.

MANCHESTER City owner Thaksin Shinawatra has strenuously denied newspaper reports suggesting the entire first team squad is up for sale.

The former Thai Prime Minister also said reports that John Wardle had apologised to the players for selling the club were untrue.

Thaksin told www.mcfc.co.uk: “There is absolutely no truth to this story or any of the allegations. I appreciate the progress and performance of the whole squad, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, this season.”

Despite the comments Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted that there have been no player contract talks at Eastlands for the best part of two months.

He said: “I don ‘t think there have been any discussions about contracts for six, seven, eight weeks.”
I wish he would just fuckoff & leave us alone now.

^ How can they help? He's already got the serious attitude problem and arrogance - are they going to provide him with fake sporty tracksuits for PR events.

You aren't in Thailand now Square Head. You can't just shut down newspapers that print articles that you don't like.

That's what I find so amusing about this whole charade.

Toxin trying to manipulate the forces around him like he could in Thailand and realizing it don't work like that.

His power rests firmly in his wallet and little else.

Mark Hughes installed as new Man City manager, Hughes takes nooooo shit if the players who say they would leave if Erikson was sacked better have good agents because I think Hughes will just show them the door if they have that attitude.
Loved Sparky as a player especially for Wales and as a manager done well for Wales until he decided to play the slow, constantly offside but great in the air fat jack b*stard John Hartson as a lone striker in a qualifying play off against Russia a few years back.
Man City are looking at bringing in some very big name players and with Sparky at the helm if Thaksin can learn how to have deep pockets but keep his mouth closed I think maybe Man City will become a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

Personally I think Hughes is the lowest form of shite possible - I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. I saw him in the 80's at St. James having a torrid time against, I think, Peter Jackson. Jackson was winning every ball in the air and at one corner, Hughes the cnut just spat at the back of Jackson's head as he was yet again beaten to the ball.

Jackson, ever the gentleman, didn't rise to the bait. Unfortunately, he's now battling throat cancer and I wish him the best.

    Hughes can go fuck himself.
