Seems odd to be listening to TMS on a Test Match with them talking about required run rates.

Jimmy is in a race with Boult as the number 11 with the highest test runs. Lets hope the Burnley Lara gets to take the runs honours with a match wining contribution this afternoon

We've had a bit of a glitch, it has to be said.

To be honest, so long as England go for the win I'm not so worried who wins. I just hope they don't play out for a draw.

Well, they are 1 up in the series so there is no compulsion to win, they just need to tick along and assess as they go.

97 off the last 10 overs, moved up to T20 gear. Have to say NZ missing Jameson, although he may have just gone further into the crowd.

    EDIT

Bairstow could get Engs fastest Test hundred, 8 in 5 required

The ebbs and flows of test cricket makes the game great and this test proved the point.

Australia won tonight against SL with Maxwell saving their arse with a fantastic 80 off 51 balla.

There was no way on earth a draw was ever gonna happen yesterday with the two new names above the door. Wonderful stuff to see.

And why are they almost always such classics when England and NZ get together?

Well that was more excitement in one day than you'll get in a lifetime of watching seppos in their panty hose sports.

In the seventies I watched England get humbled by the West Indies and at 12 years old I wondered 'Why don't we just copy them'? Especially the aggressive slip cordon.

Now over 40 years later it seems that adopting the habits and outlook of winners might just be the way to go.

    Well durrrr...

Eng v Ze Dutch on an ODI, got put into bat and are 446 for 4 after 46 overs, Roy out for 1 and Morgan had a duck - Butler is having a field day and Livingston just joined him to hit his first over for 32 runs

England finish 498-4 after their 50 overs. A new record with Jos Buttler finishing on 162 from 70 balls and Livingstone 66 from 22.

Test 3/3 against the Kiwis starts in 20 minutes.

NZ won the toss and chose to bat.
