I was in a taxi to spend the rest of the afternoon watching somebody teach on the other side of the city when he cancelled on me, so I've just got home and cracked open a beer in time for that wicket. Happy days.

NZ still slightly in the driving seat at the moment, but a couple of wickets from the mighty England will change that.

Circa 500 is possible on this wicket.

Circa 150 is possible from England’s batsmen.

    Oh sorry, ‘batters’.

    Wotchutalkinbout Cy?

Joe and Dil don't post on this thread.

That dropped catch by Root is already looking costly.

well this is now about Eng saving the match so a draw would be good as long as Eng hold the bat with the flat bit facing the bowler. As Syb says you can't rule out Eng losing by an innings despite having the old guard in we look toothless bowling and we are clueless on flat tracks, no one who can extract anything - wagner would have loved this pitch, 30 overs a day and he'd have got 3-4 wickets, small mercies.

This is basically a load of bollocks irrespective of what Cy said, you brown-nosing southern bellend.

It all depends on which way the next wicket goes.

Btw, try to use some commas next time ,,,,,,,

It'll be a different story today, so long as the ball doesn't end up in another pint of cider.

BEN STOKES was frustrated by some poor bowling, dropped catches and the curious case of the cider-sodden ball.

It meant captain Stokes’ decision to bowl first was not a success on day one of the Second Test as New Zealand reached 318-4.

At 210-4 and with the ball swinging, Stokes harboured hopes of a clatter of wickets.

But that came to a halt when it disappeared into a women spectator’s pint pot.

Daryl Mitchell hoisted Jack Leach for a six over long-on and, freakishly, the ball landed straight in the drink with a big splash.

The ball was dried and cleaned but it didn’t swing an inch after that.

The New Zealand team were delighted at the alcoholic impact and they even bought the England fan a replacement pint of cider.

Kiwi batter Devon Conway said: “We were quite shocked they didn’t change the ball especially with all the Covid protocols.
"It didn’t swing as much after landing in the drink so Daryl did a good job with that!”

Add some indifferent bowling – the hosts tended to bowl too short and offered too many boundary hits – and a couple of crucial spilled chances and Stokes will know England’s situation could be much better.

Here's Susan with her replacement pint of cider.

Jimmy was swinging even more often than Chitty does and they were on the ropes at at that time.

That bloke deserves a lifetime ban, i mean what idiot wouldn't protect their pint, ah a woman. Women shouldn't be allowed to drink cider. Is it a woman or one of TC's varied rainbow letters?

    C'mon the Blackcaps!

Mitchell so far is having a great tour.

One hundred more and then declare. That's a reasonable target for this afternoon.

Both present batsmen were dropped at first slip.

Seems that Root is not the only one with the dropsies.

all out for under 200 and bowling 2 sessions at the kiwis is also a distinct possibility, a relaxing Sunday afternoon watching Eng trying to survive 10 overs later after they have been set a target of 700 to win.
