^ we know that Hazza. I'm not a cricketer, played a bit a village level and even then you had the odd pacer clocking 75+ i reackon and that is some serious shite to face. Its either adopt the fetal, waft or adopt the fecal.

Starting to like him more, he's competitive but during the test series you saw the respect him and Root had for each other.

Virat Kohli: I think we set quite a decent total on the board. It was going to be challenging if we stayed in the game for long periods. I think we started off really well with the new ball but still England found a way to get a 100 run partnership. We didn't execute too well but I thought they batted brilliantly tonight. It was some of the most amazing batting you'll see when chasing. They totally blew us away during that partnership of Jonny and Ben Stokes. We didn't even have a chance during that partnership. I don't think the dew played any role at all. The ball wasn't difficult to hold. You could say the wicket settles down a bit under lights but that's no excuse. When two of the best teams in the world collide, one of them is going to win convincingly. Last time we came back. This time England didn't give us anything at all. It's quite rare that if you play with that strike rate and give no chances. It shows the quality of batting.

So I went out for some errands and on my return I find Kohli making excuses.

I once had to take a very damaged cricketer to hospital at the Sixes because he got one from one of Thai kids we coach smack in the face with no helmet.

His nose was pointing to his ear, and he asked me in the ambulance "Do you think it's broken"?

Kumar has been the difference - getting England's openers out early before they could take the game away from India.

A particularly good delivery did for Roy.

78 needed off 78 balls, 7 wickets down.

    This could still get interesting.

The cricket equivalent of American Rounders starts today. Always good for a laugh although i don't think the crowds will be the same and therefore nor will the IPL..

    Good Lord,

The Hundred: 'Wickets' could be called 'outs' in new tournament

The term 'outs' could be used instead of 'wickets' when The Hundred launches this summer.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is discussing the idea as one of the ways to potentially make cricket more accessible to newcomers.

But the governing body is not looking to completely replace terms.

The women's tournament begins on 21 July, with the men's starting a day later, after it was delayed by a year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"The Hundred is designed to make cricket accessible to everyone, and research shows that the language of the game can sometimes be a barrier," said a spokesperson for the tournament.

"Along with our broadcast partners, we want The Hundred to open cricket up to more people, as well as entertaining existing fans, so we're discussing the clearest ways of explaining the game, but nothing's been finalised."

The ECB see the term 'outs' as not too far removed from existing cricket terminology because it is used when a batter is dismissed.

'Wicket' can also mean the set of three stumps and two bails at either end of the pitch.

I've been there! A very nice ground. I believe it was back in 2006.

Shane Bond had a hat trick, but the Black Caps lost by 105 runs.

In the absence of any cricket so far today, you might be interested in the news that when Devon Conway brought up his double century yesterday he became the 200th man to score a test double century.

    Or you might not.

There was a question on Pointless Celebrities the other night where the contestants had to name an England cricketer who had played 100 or more tests for England.

One said WG Grace and the other said Mike Gatting...

See if you can name three without looking it up.

Well it would have to be modern day players when you didn't have to spend a month on a boat to play overseas, so the WG Grace suggestion is pretty clueless.

I know Alec Stewart and Alastair Cooke have over 100 test caps.

Not sure about a third though. I'll stick with captains and say Atherton.

    Yes, and shit bloke.

I guess with the advent of modern travel and the addition of new teams to the test ranks it is expected that later players would have a better chance.

Cowdrey managed it in 1968 and there wasn't another one until Boycott in 1981.
