^ Burns is useless and Wade is no more or no less then an average middle order batsman.

Speaking of average, Smith's since the ashes in 2019 is ... twenty something.

Masks compulsory at Sydney Test and cricket spectators urged to drive to the SCG

    Cricket scores around the world-11838790-16x9-xlarge-jpg

Despite days of growing pressure to cancel crowds at the SCG, the traditional New Year's cricket Test starts today, albeit with some significant changes.

    Key points:

    • People attending the cricket will have to wear masks except when they are eating or drinking
    • Surrounding hospitality venues will be severely curtailed in what they can offer
    • There will be 450 extra bus and light rail services to avoid crowding

Initially billed to be only 50 per cent capacity, that has been reduced again, and now less than 10,000 will be allowed to attend each day in a stadium that usually sits 38,000.

Took my kids to the boxing day test and they loved it. Now they cannot get enough of test cricket. Proud Dad moment.

Speaking of Smith. What a petty, unsporting, spoilt little c u n t.

You would have thought the sandpaper would have taught him a lesson in humility.

Yeah, it was noticeable that he was getting a right cob on today when a draw gradually became more and more likely.

The captain wasn't setting any better example either.

Paine's attempts at getting under the batsman's skin backfired on him badly.

So all in all...underneath the veneer, it's the same old Aussies.

My most remembered day of cricket watching was up in the Queensland hinterland on an old spoke house with a couple of dozen family and they had this amazing thing that you poured water in the back and cool air came out the front. a black&white tv and dennis lillie vs the windies. We loved the windies fighting spirit.

1981/1982 TVs had colour then. And the West Indies fighting spirit came later that decade.

Damn right, jeez they pulled that one out of the fire against a pretty good bowling attack. Sets up for a good game at the Gabba - hopefully.

Galle is supposed to be a batsman’s paradise for the first two days, but thanks to poor batting and bad luck SL are 130/9.

Looks like they are heading for the lowest first innings test score ever at this ground.

England really should win from this position.
