I wonder if lightning can strike twice?
Be a hell of a game if it does.

What a brilliant game, England chasing and have reached their best ever second innings total with 345/7 chasing 399, with six overs to go.
And then it rains.
Still time to finish it if they can get going again in about 30 minutes.
Otherwise D/L which would be a bloody tragedy.
England have to score 34 runs off 13 balls. Because it's stopped raining and they're sitting on their hands.
They have the lights, Why not finish it properly?
Naturally England didn't do it, but there was a brilliant bit of fielding to get Rashid out which will be on the highlights tomorrow without a doubt.

My comment was about the manner in which England played. Since England again played in a positive manner and lost only because of the lottery of d/l your post doesn't really make sense.
But what else is new.

I have no beef with D/L if there is no alternative, but they could have played this game out. That's the shame. They sat on their hands after it had stopped raining, so you can argue that it was England or the umpires who were at fault.
England went from needing 55 off 37 balls at 1.5 runs a ball to needing 34 off 13 at 2.6 a ball.
Just ruined the game for nothing really.
A game of cricket was played at The Oval NZ won. They didn't cheat, and caught a brilliant catch on the boundary to win...but the English are complainingjaysus...what nextOriginally Posted by harrybarracuda
Your desperation to stir stuff up knows no bounds, Bruce.
You're inventing a reaction to an obscure calculation for a form of the game few non Asians care much about, apart from Kiwis apparently, 'cos they're the only non Asians who work hard.
This one is your biggest assignment yet.
Emphasis on the 'ass'.
What do you get the batsman who seemingly has everything?
In Steve Smith's case, the ideal present would be a Test double-century.
External Link: West Indies v Australia, second Test scoreboard
For all of Smith's achievements over the past two years - scoring 2113 Test runs at 64.03 including nine Test hundreds - passing the 200 mark has eluded him.
On Friday at Jamaica's Sabina Park, that final barrier looked like it was going to broken.
Smith had already eclipsed his previous best (192 against India in last year's Boxing Day Test) when, on 199, disaster struck.
VINE: Steve Smith out LBW for 199
Impressive West Indies quick Jerome Taylor's yorker crashed into Smith's pads and umpire Ian Gould raised his finger.
Despite a desperate and almost immediate review, the decision was upheld and Smith became the third Australian to fall for 199 in Test cricket.
It was a deflating end to another otherwise exemplary knock by surely the world's most in-form batsman.
"You get so close you want to get over the line and get 200," said Smith, who joins Steve Waugh (v West Indies, 1999) and Matthew Elliot (v England, 1997) as Australians dismissed just one short of that milestone.
"I've not got that before in a first-class game or a Test match so it would have been nice, but it wasn't to be today," Smith told host broadcaster Ten Sports.
For all the disappointment, the reality is Smith's average of 55.06 after 28 Tests is world-class and his teammates know just how important he's become to the team.
"It's one of those things where you're disappointed for him but, on the other hand, it's 199 runs - it's a pretty amazing achievement," Nathan Lyon said.
"I'm pretty sure the way Steve's batting, he'll get the opportunity to get a lot more runs. I feel for him but also excited for him."

You're quite witless sometimes, aren't you Bruce?
I was complaining about the fact that they resorted to Duckworth Lewis, which clearly changed the game, when they didn't need to.
If you don't have anything intelligent to offer the discussion, kindly go and and stick an unjellied bat handle up your well worn arse.
^whatever Harold. We won.Have a day.
