Straight into it again on Friday.

Kohli probably doesn't see a need to return at this point.

In the eyes of a particularly dimwitted nine-year-old, maybe.

Well, they did the right thing omitting Rehan imo.

Lots of pies in the 3rd Test.

Need to see runs from Bairstow & Root.

Would be great to see Stokes bowling again.

    Good luck with that.

I saw one pub advertising it for Tuesday. That's what I call optimism.

The surface at Ranchi appears to have deep cracks down one side but looks flat on the other and could spin sharply with variable bounce.

"It's a typical Indian wicket, there are cracks, this wicket always had cracks," batting coach Vikram Rathour said. "It will turn, but how much it will turn and from when we are not sure. We have enough balance in our team to go whichever way we want to go."

Stokes told British media late Wednesday: "I've never seen something like that before. I don't know what could happen."

    England choosing to bat.

Obviously expecting this shitty wicket to get worse. Might come in handy if they last that long.

3 down and 2 walking wickets in the middle. India must be passing themselves laughing.

'Not a percentage shot' says Nick Knight.

    Indeed not.

    Brainless.

    Cook reckons par is 250.

If Eng bat 65 to 70 overs, fact is all they need to do is bat the day out and still be in tomorrow and they'd pass 250 but instead they seem hell bent on making themselves look like Kvnts.

It seems to have been solved by Cook revising his par score.

The wicket was awful this morning, when Crawley was batting, has it got any better?

A bit of shopping and an afternoon siesta and I was expecting India to be in the 300's by now.

Welcome back Mr. Root, where have you been?

Amazing what happens when you are content with a c50 strike rate and put the reverse sweep and switch hit away. Now if he can just remember that for the next 50 innings.

It seems to have been a feature of this series that the toughest time to bat has been the first hour.

Hardly unique of course, but very noticeable.

Still, that straight six Crawley hit was immense.

Did you see it from the angle behind the batsman?

    Great shot.

Really happy for Joe Root, as he's such a talented player.

Don't wish to be too glass half empty but I hope we don't undo all this good work with another second innings collapse.

Has Cook changed his par again yet?
