Moeen seems to have rediscovered the middle of his bat.

Although the top edge can work too.

Thanks LT.. it's nice to see an Aussie contributing to the cricket thread!

I watched it with Anna, although she's more into the football to be honest...

    Bring it on!

England made hard work of their second innings, though to be fair Pakistan’s strength is their bowling. The game got down to the wire.

I agree with each of those points. The difference was that man Stokes again.

The game didn't really go down to the wire, though.

England paced their innings to win by five wickets with an over to spare.

That's a fairly routine win by T20 standards.

I thought it was close, at the halfway stage England were ahead by 1 run under the DLS count with their openers already gone and a middle order that has had less exposure in this competition than some teams' while facing a strong bowling attack. I didn't see Englnd's batsmen as being in control, it was quite balanced. A mistake from Stokes in, say, the 18th over could have led to a different result. Anyway, we got there in the end with an over to spare.

Over 15 or 16 was the difference, England needed 46 off 4. Pakistan had a bowler injured so they brought on their spin to be smacked 6,4,4 in first 3 balls…

That made the difference between winning easily and winning. England had plenty of wickets in hand.

Yes, Pakistan were unlucky to lose their star player, but they lost the game because they were at least 20 runs short of a defendable total.

The convicts won the toss and bowl.

Hard to see how England can be properly motivated here.

I also cannot see how anyone, including Mendip's dogs, be motivated wearing Pommy coloured shirts.

^ From what I see, and based upon your pictures, the mutts seem pretty confused about what is happening in the Mendip compound.

Better you dress the gardener in a colour coordinated kit that belies your present preference.

Offer him a bonus to wear an Ausie kit asuring him he will be a winner.

The wife has a couple of yellow frocks I believe!

^ Obviously her choice of attire colour is based upon the memories of her time in the great country Australia.

    I understand her colour choice!

I'm surprised our convict friends are so chirpy. They must fancy their chances on home soil.

We even put Roy back in to give them a chance.

We have the ashes so why would you be surprised?

Your largely unjustified perception that you unwashed smelly lot will win the ashes back is a joke!

Continue to live in hope but have a wash every now and then!

At least spread some clean living vibes in spite of your team being shite!
