    I'm watching that now.

Great looking ground in a beautifull setting.

    Little shading though.

Jeez it was hard to read that Glenn "The Big Show" Maxwell is taking a self-enforced break from the game to deal with mental health issues. Watched the T20 game a few days back between Oz and SL and he was miked-up talking to the commentators live while he was on the field, seemed totally at ease and in a great mood but I guess you just never know what's really going on in some people's minds..

Though of course in the rare cases when England players have been in similar situations it's been a source of considerable mirth for many Aussies.

And England's game it was ... which was a bit of a surprise for me as I thought that the KIWI's might have taken that game.

The KIWI game was maybe, on that pitch 30/40 runs short.

England win the first T20 in a canter.

Very surprising for a player in great form, scoring heaps of runs, getting wickets when bowling and probably the best fieldsman in the team.

Doesn't say it's cricket related. Could be he found out his missus his banging his best mate and can't handle it.

Same link as LT's above will get you the game.

Half way through the game, Australia won the toss and sent Sri Lanka in.

MCG Pitch is benign and Sri Lanka probably 20 - 30 runs shy of where they need to be.

Loss of the rest day was a big part of that.

Last summer's itinerary for the World Cup and Ashes was brutal.

Is there any reason why Ben Stokes is not playing in this series?

He must be your best player in the short forms of the game.

I`d forgotten all about the rest days. Found this interesting read on them
    https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_...e-rest-history
[It is now over 10 years since the abolition of the rest day in English Tests. It seems longer - the blank Sunday already entering the blurred middle-distance of memory, alongside the Scoop bat, the Cornhill Test and the Vauxhall Viva. But why did they stop? What used to happen on them? And did the abolition change the game?
If 1997 was the year of extinction, the English rest day had been endangered for many years. The first Sunday of Test cricket in England was at Trent Bridge in 1981, soon followed by Old Trafford and Edgbaston - where the crowd were treated to Ian Botham's famous 5 for 1. In each case the start was at mid-day, supposedly to allow churchgoing. But at Lord's tradition ruled: no Sunday play and a chilly reception for Botham after he completed a pair with a misjudged sweep.
The same applied at Headingley in 1981. This allowed Botham's infamous eve-of-rest-day barbecue. Held at his Yorkshire home, 40 minutes in a sponsored Saab from the ground, it ended with an elderly woman being pushed round the darkened garden in a wheelbarrow, as England drowned in ale the sorrows of what seemed certain to be defeat. "It was always on a Saturday night or Sunday," recalls John Emburey. "That wasn't necessarily a rest day, actually."
Maxwell didn`t play in the ashes - pretty sure he won`t be picked for tests again. He is good at the short formats though.

Like Harry said, it could be non-cricket related. Mind you, it is all taken very seriously these days, and Maxwell has quite a few critics..

Steve Smith must be the best batsman to ever pick up a cricket bat.

His last innings against Pakistan tonight was unbelievable!

One wouldn't want to speak too soon (colloquially known as "a trip to Yokohama"), but it looks like England will level the series.

At 181-2 and 3.3 overs to go, might get over 200...

Edit a 6 and a 4 off the next two balls and 200 would be a let down from here. Malan scores 28 off the 17th over; he thinks he's S.Smith with his 100 off only 48 balls.
