Because they Welsh county plays it's domestic cricket in the English County Championship which is managed by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Welsh players play for and have captained england.
I'd prefer the team has a different name, but it's not going to happen and I personally (others may be different of course) do my feel insecure enough about my own identity to make a fuss about.
In fact when Australians are attacking the English I'm always happy to point out that we should be included in those attacks. We're in it together whether the team is doing well or not.
And we produce far better beer than the Australians..... but I see you wisely kept away from that debate.
